Look this is a buyers market this summer.

Toronto already has SO much money invested in TJ ford.

Only 1 team has the money to throw around this offseason.

Many players will accept the MLE.

You mean like last offseason with Rashard. How did the buyers market go. Calderon going to get way more than the MLE.

Duhon and Childress top my list of realistic options. Maggette is just behind them.

Calderon is top of my awesome pickup options, yet unrealistic.

spinedoc, i love the idea about makin a move for Collison. he's a big guy i've never even considered as a partner for Dwight. good call.

If you want Maggette, you're going to have to figure out a sign-and-trade, and that's not easy to do -- especially when the Clippers owner just loves Maggette. A young fella like him is not gonna take a pay cut. He is in line to make $8.4 million next season and is making well over $7 million this season.

I don't want to be mean, but a lot of people's plans here for improving the team are no more than dreams. It's just not realistic that most of them have a shadow of a chance of happening. It's no wonder you think management is doing a bad job if you think they can make deals like some of the ones proposed here.

1. diamantidis, unfortunately, has nothing to gain in the nba.
2. a good dream/wish/hope, though.
only 10 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists shy of yet another triple double - anonymous

He has expressed interest before of jumping to the NBA. It is no sure thing, but it isn't completely unreasonable either.

I agree with you that a deadline trade is the best way to go to get Maggette, but stranger things have happened. Dunleavy could win out over there in that power struggle, and decisions could come down to either or of Maggette and Brand. Plus who's to say that Mags is that happy there and that there is mutual love between him and Sterling. The market could be dry for him with few teams able to spend more than the mle this summer as well. And if the mle is going to be around the 6M range starting out, then he's really only giving up 2M on the last year of his contract. If he gets a six year deal, that could help erase that loss. Also, its no sure thing that anyone else is willing to invest in him long term with his past injuries. The mle just might be the sweet spot for a guy like Maggette. Its not that wild of an idea hoops.

 Oops, sorry Ben. I was talking about the pg Darren Collison from UCLA. I've got him rated as a top three pg in this years draft. We have no shot at Rose from Memphis, he's clearly a high lottery pick, but Bayless from Arizona or D.Collison may slip far enough for us to move up and get either of them. I was suggesting that we could use JJ to move up and get a very nice pg prospect for next year. Sorry for the confusion.

Nelson is going to be this teams starting PG, we need to just accept it...

my list in order of importance...

1) re-sign Mo Evans
2) land starting caliber SG
3) sign veteran PG (not a scrub)
4) rebounder/shooter at the 4/5

Collison is deffinately in the top tier of PG's in this draft. We would surely have to move up for any of them. The top tier of PG's is these 5 in some order.

1. Rose
2. Bayless
3. Augustine
4. Collison
5. Lawson

A guy we should look at if he declares is Jamont Gordon. He likely would be there when we pick and he is a big, pass first PG who can defend. Just what we need.

Thats a decent list. I'm not too high on Augustin though, he's a bit on the short side at 5'11''. Another one I like that we can get at our own pick is Kyle Weaver. He's a 6'5'' combo guard from Washington State. He would make a fine complement to Jameer, Bayless is my favorite though.

Thank you....It's the most reasonable post I've seen here all day. I would like to find a way to keep Dooling, too, because of his energy and defense, but I realize that could be difficult if you still have Bogans on the roster, you sign a starting SG and you re-sign Evans. Guards are prime targets to get injured, though.

I can't accept it.
I hate watching Jameer play more and more everyday.
His outside shot used to be money, now hes scare to take them.
Plus the fact that all the quick PGs blows by him.

I guess you'll have to root for some other team then. Or just watch golf.
