That's OK. I think he only signed a four-year contract this time. There might be a partially guaranteed fifth year or something.

By the way, I find this hysterical since New Jersey fans were so quick to guarantee us this summer that there was no way the Nets were letting Vince get away to sign with the Magic. I don't even know if the Magic truly showed interest. But the Nets got him re-signed, and now they're trying to get rid of him.

Say what you want about the Magic's management, but they don't sign someone just so someone else can't and then start trying to move the guy in the same season that he signed the contract.

As to the actual deal, even if you wanted to do it, I still don't think there are enough salary dollars to make the deal work. That's not even $11 million in salaries, and Vince makes $16 million. You've got to get within $3.2 million.

As he says with a Celtic Avatar and Sig.....

Of course you do something like this for Carter. We definitely need another pg as mentioned already though. They would have to include Marcus in the deal. Carter has never played with a decent big man his entire career. I believe it would work out great with him here given his relationship with Dwight. There is no interest out there at all for him, and getting him without including Hedo would be a great deal for us. An extra playoff series every year would easily pay his salary and then some, and thats exactly what we would be getting from this at the minimum.

Yeah cuz this was worked out for His cuzin T-Mac so well. :banghead:

According to hoopshype, he opted out of his final year and re-structured his contract. He's only making 13M this year with a three year extension of 15.2/16.3/17.3, with a fifth year team option of 18M. Its really not that bad when you consider a lot of the bad contracts throughout the league, and he's a good fit considering we have needed a starting sg for a very long time now. It hasn't worked out in Jersey because they are too guard heavy with no big man. It would be a totally different situation for him here with Dwight.

I'd even welcome back Tmac if it was only for expirings, even with all the bad blood.
