Can you guys please tell me how Cook and Evans are doing in your team? Just wondering. thanks.[/i]

Evans is looking solid and is really fitting nicely into our system. Cook has come of the bench and given us a real spark with some timely baskets, but he has also stunk it up at times and made some very poor decisions at times, but all and all I think the trade was a steal for the Magic, while everyone else was laughing about the poor choice we made.

I don't think the Magic got a steal. We got what we wanted and the Lakers got they wanted. I think it was a well planned trade and it worked out well for both sides.
Evans is now a starter, his good defense and hustle are precious. He can hit the occasional shot but he has learned not to go postal on his shooting attempts like he was in his first games here. I think he understood pretty quickly what his role here was.
Cook has been a surprise lately. In his first games after the trade he was just a lazy bum who would sit in the corner waiting for the ball to shoot it right away. He then sit out a few games, began an intensive training directly under SVG orders so he could learn a bit of post defense and when he came back not only he was thinner but also much more active. His shooting and specially his quick trigger can be so frustrating for the opponents that it's not even funny. He can give a quick boost on offense from the bench and, also important, he can give a few fouls and at least try to play some physical defense inside.

All in all I think Otis bashers on this trade are now pretty quiet after seeing what Evans and Cook can give on this system and Ariza couldn't. :lol:

And no doubt the Lakers also got a great wing defender and a great slasher just like they were after.

You know the Lakers had nicknamed Brian Cook "Columbine" because he just went around shooting without thinking. (it was a bad joke but true.)

We miss Mo Evans though, he was the better player you guys got IMO. glad to see him getting a lot of minutes.

Evans as playing at a level right now better than anything Ariza showed here. I loved this trade when it happened and I still do. Though I do miss Ariza.

id say it is a steal seeing as ariza has reinjured the same foot and evans is a starter for us.

I think thats BS, last year Ariza had a bunch of awesome games for us, he showed ALOT of potential. I will agree that Mo Evans is a better player now, but I think if Ariza doesn't have any serious health problems he will be a better player down the road.

The thing I think some people ignore is that even if he did turn out to be the better player, would it have been with another team anyhow?

I think the trade was great for us.

Both Evans and Cook are playing better than I had expected.

Cooks is locked up, and I don't think Evans will be very hard to resign. I don't know that would could have said the same for Ariza.

I gotta be honest and say that with Evans play lately, I have completely forgotten about Ariza.

Cook has come up with some huge baskets even if he sometimes does a few boneheaded things. Hopefully he can carry on and become a little more consistent.

Evans is doing what the Magic traded for: bring stability to the SG rotation. But even better, when Bogans' good play diminished, Evans immediately stepped in to a starter level of quality.

Cook is OK now. He started very slow. The Magic spent the first two weeks getting him into game shape. It was all spinning classs and win sprints in those early days. Now, the Magic have come to use ihim in their rotation.

Anyhow, as above, Evans is working out better than Cook.
