yep, how long until a complaining thread? "We could have got him. He would put us over the top. We could offer all our expirings".

lol, so predictable.

I'm surprised there already isn't one

btw, the West is really stacked right now... Spurs, Suns (although I believe tha Shaq trade is gonna be horrible for that team), Lakers, Mavs... all those teams have huge starting fives!

Why does everyone make sucha fuss over a guy who shoots 37%. The Mavs offense is centered around high post isos for Dirk and Josh, plus this team doesn't run much. I don't see how Kidd is an upgrade over Harris in this case. Hopefully Cuban wises up and realizes that this isn't 2003 and Jason Kidd can't guard Chris Paul, Steve Nash, Tony parker or any other quick guards the way Harris could.

I don't recall Thorn making a bad trade yet.

I was talking to my friend, who works for the league, the other day. The subject of Jason Kidd and the Nets came. My friend told me this story about this event he went to for the NBA and how he meet Kiki Vanderway there. He went on to tell me how Kiki told him that most GMs don't like dealing with Rob Thorn, because he refuses to make a deal unless it is totally lopsided in the Nets favor. He refuses to make a deal that is fair for both teams and that is why the Nets don't get a lot of deals done.

Well in reality the Magic did have what the Nets wanted. The Nets wanted

1. Expiring Contracts
2. Draft picks
3. Good young player

The Magic definetely have 2 of the 3. More expiring and probably better draft picks. Depending on how good you think JJ and Fran V are is the third. If you ask Jameer he is as good as Devin Harris. Not sure if NJ is sold on Harris. Sound like they tried to make Harris part of a 3 way deal but that fell apart.

The Magic really need to get involved in this trade. We get Harris, New Jersey gets expiring contracts, Dallas gets Nelson. Nelson doesn't really have to be included, but I doubt he'd be very happy playing second fiddle to Harris (plus we rid ourselves of the mistake of giving Nelson an extension).

Harris would be a nice upgrade and perhaps we'd still have enough ammo to go after a shooting guard (mike miller?).

With Harris's speed, quickness, defense, and efficient scoring, I think that he may be the third best young point guard in the league behind Paul (who maybe the best player in the league not named Lebron) and Williams (distant #2). Giving up this kid for a guy who doesn't improve your team much just seems foolish to me. What the Mavs need to do Is find alow post scorer who can play some defense. They are set at point guard.

it's his agent that controls the situation. Can't blame either one. Agent is watching out for his client and George is doing what's right for him and taking an opportunity to make the most out of this situation. On the other hand he will not make a lot of friends by doing this. Still, pretty funny stuff.

I'm so used to seeing the Magic get screwed lately (Fran/Donovan/ect) so this really is a breath of fresh air.

Hahahahaha, Devean George......
