For the Haters

Post#1 » by mattyBoi » Mon Feb 18, 2008 8:26 pm

For anyone talking trash about the "non" dunk from saturday or how some put it the flunk...Take a look at where he took off from last year( about the same spot) and how easy he dunked it.

The only reason he didnt make it to the rim was the pass. And he was still so high up that he could throw it down into the rim.

He made it sound like he'll only be back if he feels that he could be creative enough to win it.

Yea the way he was talkin he might be done. but i mean really, thats fine with me. He is a big man anyway so i think he just wanted to show that bigs can jump, plus it would be hard to top his dunks this year

I don't think there is an educated basketball fan who can not claim that Dwight won that contest. Not even the slightest bit of question!!

If he doesn't I don't blame him. Move on to dominating the league now. He had his run and the contest really is for the players in their 1st couple of years in the league.

Dwight's 3 "literal" dunks >>>> GG 4 dunks.

Any single one of Dwight's 3 "literal" dunks >> anyone else's 2 dunks.

Why did this need a new thread? Didn't we already waste 25+ pages of server space on this ridiculous subject?

It's annoying seeing analysts saying it wasn't even a dunk though...

I believe I heard it on Sportscenter today that Howard didn't even dunk it...wtf?

The analysts need to do their homework.

It was a dunk.

Mike and Mike called it a flunk, a mixture of a fling and a dunk...

Said it was actually harder and better than a dunk and they said they love Howard to death after this weekend.

ESPN first take on the other hand bashed the dunk but those guys are ill opinionated bone heads who are always looking for trouble.

There was a poll of greatest dunk and Howards superman tied for second i believe behind Jordans free throw line dunk.

I don't give a *uck that he didn't dunk it, Howard put on a hell of a show. This is what the kids love to see. I heard every kid on my basketball team talk about Dwight's dunk.

as a fan of dwight, I'd have to say it wasn't really a dunk. I mean your hand doesn't have to touch rim to be a dunk, but for dwight it was pretty far from the rim (which is what made this borderline dunk so amazing). so I mean can you jump straight up from the FT line, and throw it downwards and in, and have it counted as a dunk?? I think not...

that being said, it was pretty cool to watch nevertheless, and why would anyone argue that dwight shouldn't have won it? NO1 EVEN CAME CLOSE TO THE STUFF HE DID!! if they had, then MAYBE you could argue about the technicality of the dunk.
