Vince plays when his team is a winner. He's a better defender than given credit for and is an extremely dangerous offensive threat in the playoffs.

I think you need both a big man and a player like Carter.

Carter, Boone

for

expirings, 2 1sts is not out of the realm of possibilities

It basically gives New Jersey a better pick, cap room to sign a player like Igoudala to a 14m a year deal, and 2 1sts. Boone is irrelevant if Sean Williams and Kristic are there.

To Orlando this is a major coup, adding yet another offensive threat while improving the frontcourt with a young energy guy for very little is a great move.

I totally agree with this deal. Carter gets a lot of bad publicity, but he's still a tremendous player. It would be like Boston turning down the idea of getting Allen to go along with KG and Pierce. This deal would help us keep pace with teams like Detroit and Boston. Even though we just beat Detroit last night, it will be very tough to do that in a series against them. If we could get Boone, not Diop, it would be a very good deal for us. Good post, but most here will not agree with you.

Most didn't want to draft Bynum out here

Here's something to consider. Playing half assed in New Jersey this year Carter has put up surprisingly good numbers. His defensive numbers beat everyone's golden boy Mike Miller and pretty much always have. His assists are solid, his turnovers average, his rebounding is above average for a shooting guard and always has been. In the playoffs the last two years, he and Kidd not Richard Jefferson carried the team.

I distinctly remember Carter going nuts carrying his team multiple times. His numbers do not drop in the post-season, he's not a choker and he adds an element to the Magic that they don't have. Neither Hedo Turkoglu nor Rashard Lewis can drive from the 3 point line and dunk it or feed the ball to Dwight at the last second like Carter can. Maurice Evans has difficulty dribbling the ball to get there.

There's this huge love affair with Ray Allen now that's completely ridiculous. Carter is a better player in everything but three point shooting.

On the Supersonics as the #1 option, Allen was a plus 8 PER in 2006-2007. Vince Carter half assing, with an injured ankle is a plus 8 PER.

The Celtics paid a fifth overall pick to get Allen. The Magic can get him for pure expirings....

Obviously you dont watch Magic games. Not really on Lewis but Hedo has been basically driving to the basket at will this season and is a very good passer, often feeding Dwight for easy points.
