No we should make a move because we have needs. PF being the biggest. Look if all a Gm has to do is say he tried but it didn't work out then NO GM could ever be evaluated. Otis has had three tries.

1. Off season - blew it by overpaying and not having the dough to get or keep A PF

2. Exception, JJ , ariza, a pg and picks available to get a PF best he could do is get Cook for that slot.

3. Trade deadline with a bunch of expirings - Holding pattern hope he pulls it out at the last moment.

So no he isn't sabotaging the team - thats extreme but I think explained by the party BUT although he shouldnt be fired for it it goes toward a less than stellar track record that HAS to be considered when his job performance is analyzed down the road.

Saying we don't know and he tried but it didn't work out would let all GMs off the hook. I don't see that benefit of the doubt being extended to any player or coach. You don't get it done. You are accountable.

Hopefully he'll get something done in the last hour not talk nonsense about Cook being the PF or insisting that he has to have three p guards left or pass in getting a caliber PF.

I'm kind of glad nothing is going to happen.

I have had little faith in the front office working a trade efficiently.

Still, needs exist all over............

I don't think that he should be fired for it, but I think that this deadline, assuming nothing happens, is absolutely a strike against him. We need a power forward and backcourt help to contend, and Otis failed to do anything to resolve our problems. He had ample assets (especially with expirings valued at what they are this deadline), and couldn't work anything.

The fact that Otis was out scouting college basketball less than 48 hours before the deadline is testament to either his ineptness or his apathy, or both. This is the trade deadline and we need a trade to contend. Our General Manager should be giving it his all to make that happen.

Otis was just trying to make a better choice with the 20th pick.
