So we use the MLE to fill one position. I've got no problem with that.

How many needs to do we have though? What other means do we have available to us in the future to fill them?

We had an opportunity to fill one need now, and then another in the off-season with the MLE.

depends on how many needs you think we need. i just think we need one upgrade in the backcourt and frontcourt. mainly at sg and pf. just two solid players for both postions that can contribute. players that do the little things, provide energy, provide team defense and don't need the ball to be effective. i will see what otis does this summer before i go off on him. he has done a decent job with this team this year and its whether he can improve it for next year that matters. haslem would provide one of this needs as would wilcox but no one knows what they wanted for those players or if they were even availabe for expirings. this year, this team is destined to be a 2nd round exit with or without someone like haslem. Unless dwight howard literally turns into shaq in the playoffs.

IMO, if Otis could have picked up a halfway decent pf for our expirings(and a third-string pg if he gave up Carlos), he would have done so. And I don't for a minute believe that he wouldn't have traded JJ. He was just trying to make him look more attractive to GMs who wanted Hedo or no trade.

It would have been nice, but the team is doing well. Tony hopes to be back for the playoffs, and should be serviceable next year with that good, long rest. Cookie, Auggie, and Marcin have been training with one of the best big man coaches around, and practicing against the best center in the East. And maybe even that big dude from Spain will show up (accompanied by a flock of flying pigs, of course). We'll be OK.
