you gotta give it up for SVG. I watch basketball for enjoyment (winning is more fun) and this is a really exciting team and style of play. Last year may have been the ugliest offense I have ever seen in the NBA

No matter what we all think (including myself) about Otis and his ways, our team is better than last year. We realisticaly have a shot at a 50 win season. I watch Cleveland play and get beat last second by the Bucks. THEY are only 7 games above .500 and the ONLY reason anyone notices them is because of LeBron. Dwight is becoming the face of the NBA and as the seaon comes to a close, people will see our record and then Clevelands and the record will speak for itself.
The best thing that can happen to the magic, in my opinion, is that we keep the course and just DOMINATE in the playoffs. With National TV coverage and WINNING games we will slowly work our way back into the spotlight. I am SICK and TIRED of people saying that we are a Small market team. Orlando is the TOP tourist town in the country and EVERYONE knows about Orlando. It's time they know about Dwight Howard and the ORLANDO MAGIC!!!!!!!!

I predicted 50 to 52 wins before the season started and it still apears that way. I said maybe 55 wins if things go very well and I still stand with that. Before the trade deadline I felt the exact same and that appears where we are headed.
Now, with all that said - it still was a very dumb move for Otis not to use our assets (expiring contracts) to get a well needed piece for this team. Arroyo and Garrity should have been packaged with either JJ or a 1st round pick for Wilcox - I think that is all it would have taken or even Garrity, Augustine and either JJ or a late first round pick.
Those unused assets are no longer assets. Picking up a guy like Wilcox with a reasonable contract would help the Magic. If not picking up Wilcox then you go for a piece to improve your team. I dont' believe that we couldn't get an upgrade for Garrity and Arroyo - Garrity will never see the court again except for mop up minutes and Arroyo has some talent and an expiring contract so teams would be interested in him.
People talk about the improvement in the team - that is a given - we have a good team - we had an opportunity to step up to the next level with a move and we didn't - Otis failed us on that - very badly.

SVG is in no way overpaid - the guy is showing brilliance to this point. I have no reason to think it will be different in the future based on what I have seen. I think SVG will get even better, but where it will show up is in how much better the players get - defensively and mentally.
SVG is excellent!
