I chatted with a source about this issue two years ago. Shaq's jersey will not be retired but there is speculation they will sell him a piece of the team.

The source told me the next player in line for a jersey retirement is Dwight Howard and that jersey retirements are meant for only great players

They also mentioned if they were to retire a jersey like Nick Anderson's, where does it leave the bar in regards to other players like Scott Skiles, Darrell Armstrong, Dennis Scott, etc.

To me, I understand it but my greatest Magic memories are from #25 Nick Anderson and feel maybe down the road when the franchise has been in the league longer, the Magic will consider it.

If anyone ever gets their jersey retired, I really want it to be Nick.

Thinking back one of my most enjoyable moments came a season after Shaq left, and Penny was Injured. The Lakers came to town and where destroyed by the one and only Nick Anderson. I think he deserves his due credit. Shaq.... no....

Answer to the original post........NO.
Basketball is driven by three principles:

1) Movement 2) Application of fundamentals 3) Predictability

NOOO!! shaq shouldn't even be allowed back in town! period, he only led the magic to the finals bc thats who drafted him then as soon as he could he jumped ship. I've been to a couple magic games can i get my jersey retired??? LOL but i think Darrell Armstrong should come back and retire as a magic and have his jersey retired as well. He was here when it was rough and he loved every minute of it. Darrell Armstong is the best(no homo...ok maybe alittle man crush LOL) Kebo is nice and all but hes not true #10!!!!

Hell no, not with orlando at least. At this point I'd rather see Doolings jersey retired.
Whether you think you CAN or you think you CAN'T, you're right.

No way to Shaq's number being retired here. I like the idea of Anderson and Skiles jerseys hanging in the rafters but unfortunately I agree that we can't do it because that would put the bar way too low.

Our fault that we let him go though.....

We should have given him more money.

I doubt Shaq get it

now the real question

will Tracy McGrady's Jersey be there?

Unless we screw things up (history says yes), Howard should be the first.

Anderson and Armstrong are obviously memorable, but not jersey-retiring worthy.
