I was thinking the other night watching the game I didn't mind Dooling playing more minutes than Jameer and finishing out the game. For a moment there I thought maybe Jameer should come back in with about 5 minutes left then Dooling did ok.

So what you say.... well first off you should never say so what to me, but because you did I'll answer.

So what ... well I have a point. I have been a big supporter of Jameer, I have seen glimpses of what the kid can do and I think he could be very good, but he has been inconsistent and this is the year he should have stepped up. He is starting to play better, but his shot is off a little and I think he is off a little.

I really like the look of the offense when Jameer is out there and I also like the way Dooling is playing. I don't like the way the offense looks when Carlos is in there.

So the Carlos fanatics call me a homer for JAMEER because I like him starting in front of Carlos and I like him a lot more - not a little. Now with Dooling playing well I have no problem with Dooling getting lots of minutes. I always liked Dooling, but was hesitant about him being a starter due to ball handling skills, but he has been doing pretty well in that area as of late. I still like the way Jameer runs the offense believing that he'll eventually step it up and SVG will help him step it up.

So, the point you say what is it - again you should just be patient with me, but here is the point....

I like the way Nelson plays and I like the way Dooling plays. I don't care where they are from. I don't care if they are white, black or PR.

I don't like the way Carlos plays and I definitely don't like him as a starter. If he were a better player it would be great - nothing I'd like to see better than a PR player lighting it up - it would be fun routing for a guy who could bring it big time and having the PR fans go nuts. Problem is that Carlos is a mediocre backup in my opinion - you don't have to agree with me.

And, I am very cool with Dooling getting big minutes with Jameer - I still like them both playing right now - Jameer is showing flashes of skill and Dooling is playing better over all, but he is good coming off the bench. If Jameer is off I don't mind seeing Dooling playing 28 of the 48 minutes and Nelson playing 20 and if Nelson is playing well I don't mind seeing him play 28 and Dooling 20.

Why don't I mind you say - well if you are a Carlos homer you'll say it is because I am racist or something, which is not true. The reason I don't mind is because Dooling is playing well and looks good out there.

Can Carlos play well at times - yes, but even when he does I still don't like his game. I mean if Garrity went out there and hit 5 threes in a row I still wouldn't want him on the court - I hate his game. I don't hate Carlos' game, but I definitely am not a fan. I just don't see him leading a team anywhere and Dooling offers so much more as a backup - primarily defense.

Thats because SVG called every play for Turk so Dooling couldnt over dribble, forget to pass, and take bad shots. Turk set up the offense for most of the 4th quarter which is why Dooling did "ok."

Garrity is not Irish, just an Irishman.

Finally, it is possible that there is a bit of racism floating around. Anyone that has spent a significant amount of time in Central Florida couldn't help but come to the conclusion that we aren't exactly flush with the cream of the crop from puerto rico (or if we are, that country must be absolutely horrible). I've certainly had many more bad experiences with people from that island than any other group of people I regularly come in contact with and I don't think that is entirely an coincidence. If anything I would say Central Florida has characteristics that seem to attract puerto ricans of poor character. Of course that doesn't excuse outright racism (there are certainly many great people from puerto rico living in Central Florida as well), but I can certainly understand why some might have some harsh feelings.

I feel pretty comfortable agreeing with this assessment.I was born at ORMC. Also, my fiancee is Puerto Rican and not at all like most that you might meet in the central florida area.... I have definitely run into some of the others that you speak of as well, and while I feel I am a very tolerant person. I've already told my girl that if we ever broke up, that she would probably be the last puerto rican I dated for a good long while(she says EVER), because most of her friends are crazy (not in the cool way either).

As far as Carlos, I understand there may be haters here... Some of these posts smack too much of the truth though. He could be a really good back up if he tried to be less flashy. Maybe not a starter, but still a great player in our league. My girl said though that this was one of the reasons he is know as the man in PR. So I can see why it may be hard to change what got him a jordanesque following (Her words... NOT MINE) in his native land.

I'm sure he's a great street baller and would probably smoke the majority of us posters here (Maybe not you thIEf) like a 4 pack of cool, but that doesn't work in the big league. If so Alston would be king!

Whats so funny? you think Arroyo should be playing over Jameer? Fact is Jameer is more serviceable than half the PG's in the league...

Arroyo will get 0 minutes tonight... Hell yeah

Your comment is hilarious. Jameer sure showed tonight how "great" he is when he got smoked by the Sixers.

It's funny how you single out Jameer when the whole team stunk it up last night.

As apposed to Arroyo who played so poorly in 5 minutes that he got the hook?

One thing we can all agree on - whether you were born in the U.S., Puerto Rico, Turkey, Poland, or somewhere else....

Garrity sucks and should never play again!! And, of course someone will dispute that - I don't care what nationality Garrity is - never, ever, ever play him again.
Well Knappy, what are you going to do, next season, when the Magic will give Garrity a vet, minimun contract for a year???? lol Remember I told you so!!!!!!!!!!

I'm stating my point about how Jameer is not that much better than Arroyo.

I agree, I agree, I agree ... surprised that I agree to starting Arroyo now? Well let me explain - start him on any other team that is not based out of Orlando and start him now.

He will not get a minimum contract with the Magic or any other team in the NBA - he is done. The only possibility for Garrity playing is if NJ promotes BHill to head coach - BHill had a thing for Garrity
