Now there's pretty much no one left to even just patch up our roster.

Danny Fortson would be a good pickup.

Which is why one of the other 29 teams had already signed him....

I'm disappointed in P.J. I didn't think he'd come back to be a cheap ringer. Not that I thought he would sign here either. I have yet to see one of these older guys sign with an up-and-coming team. I just thought he was going to stay retired.

Now all they need is for Sam Cassell to get bought out by the Clippers and sign with Boston, and the Celtics would be the most exaggerated example of a cheap ring team ever. It would be almost a caricature. It's like the team will have been been put together with one series of loopholes after another.

For what it's worth, Rick Mahorn was saying today on NBA Radio that Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce were lobbying hard all of All-Star weekend for P.J. to join them in Boston.

Now that Cassell has been waived, he'll probably end up there, too, because you know they have been trying to make that happen for a while.

It's like street ball. Just choose the players you want to play with, and NBA loopholes allow you all to play together.

If he does come out I doubt he comes to the Magic. Seems like they all want to go WC or Boston/Detroit.

For what it's worth, I'm not whining about it. In the Celtics case, it might not even end up winning them a title. With the right set of circumstances, any team is capable of doing it. I just don't think it's what was envisioned when the league put together the collective bargaining agreement. Because, in extreme circumstances, any player on any team could just refuse to play, demand a trade or buyout and then go to the team he wants to.

There no such thing as a cheap ring. I don't understand that logic. PJ Brown might start on the Celtics. Probably wouldn't start here. Would likely play more minutes in Boston and if they win a title will have a big role. He isn't a star taking a lesser role to win a title.

A lot of people are complaining but when the Celtics made those trades to get KG and Ray Allen I said watch mid-season when all the waived players try to go to Boston. No one is talking about Boston's depth anymore.

Actually Chris Webber went to GS which you could consider an up and coming team. For whatever reason these players are not taking the Magic seriously.
