Magic are 8-2 over their past 10 with wins over: Washington, Toronto

Philly deserves it right now. Believable.

/If they were a couple games back, then yes, But the Magic have a major advantage in the win column.

yea dude, no offense but just because a team is hot doesn't mean they're put higher than an equally as hot team that's got over 10 more wins than them.

But screw ESPN. NBA.com has us 7th I think.

Power Rankings are not the same as actual standings.

A big part of ESPN's rankings is based on each team's performance over the past 1-2 weeks.

If that is the case the Magic should be #2 behind the Rockets since they are the 2nd hottest team in the league over the last 17 games.

We didn't play 17 games over a 1-2 week period.

takes into account the last 1-2 weeks largely, but not totally. If that were the case the hottest team would always be #1. That's not always the case. a hot streak moves you up some spots, but it doesn't put you ahead of teams playing just as well and 10 games ahead of you.

If you want to take into account the last two weeks only, such as you suggest. The Magic are 7-1, (8-1 this month), while the Sixers are 6-1, (7-1 this month).

So tell me again how they deserve to be higher than the Magic (and if you don't want to count tonight's game, than they have the same records for the month and last two weeks).

i would rather have low expectations and be the underdog than to be the highly over rated celtics or the pistons, even the cavs, we are playing great lately and this is the time of year to step it up

just look at football, the patriots were supposed to take it all, no one ever gave my giants a fighting chance and look what happened, the magic are like the giants of the nba...lol
