With what money?
In an ideal world Maggette takes the MLE to play with Dwight on a winning team in his home town.
As for Corey and Hedo having conflicting roles and skill sets, I doubt that will be a great concern. They can both slash and finish or dish and they are both good shooters, with Corey being better at getting to the line. What it would do having both players is give the Magic a consistent offensive threat in all 5 starting positions which would be the best offense in the league and make the Magic virtually unguardable. It would also improve the D as Corey is better than either Evans or Bogans. In my opinion it is a best case scenario and automatically put the Magic in Elite company and favorites to win the East next year.

childress isn't coming to orlando and nor will our management pursue him. He is a SF. We already have enough of them. Secondly he can't shoot. Josh smith? keep dreaming. The hawks have enough SF's why would they trade for another SF. We mine as well have a crazy offseason of signing okafor too. maggette? is the most possible of them all but he is a SF. I highly doubt our team is going to look to add more SFs this offseason.

Oh yeah, it's horrible, isn't it? 3 seed in the East and likely our first 50-win season in over a decade.
Just awful.

Childress is playing SG for Atlanta and he played SG for Stanford. So how exactly is he a SF? Because he is 6'7''?

His playing style is more suited for the SF spot. the only reason he plays minutes at SG for the hawks is because they have a party of SFs on their team. And i don't see otis smith or SVG wanting a SG who can't shoot threes, they did ship ariza out for that reason. He just isn't a good fit on this team. Look at how many open shots bogans and evans get, we need someone who can knock them down consistently. Throw in the fact childress is a restricted free agent that will at least require the whole MLE, i don't think he is a reasonable offseason signing.

We also may need to consider a change in the playing style next year. Do we continue to rely so heavily on three-point shots? I think they will always be utilized to spread the floor for Dwight, but wouldn't a mid-range shot be just as effective?
As I said in my "State of the Magic" thread, there are a lot of decisions that need to be made this offseason. These decisions will drastically alter how to approach potential moves. If we keep the team as is and just add pieces, then we need a SG (or maybe just keep Mo), a backup PG, and a backup big (PF and/or C). That's it - IF we keep it the way we are currently constructed. If we are committed to playing people at their actual positions, we need to decide if we move Turk to the bench or trade him. Basically, offseason speculation all hinges on which direction needs to be taken. We will know better after we see this postseason.

Lol...so what you are saying is we need a JJ Redick who can play defense, right? I guess if he could play D then we wouldn't be having this problem at SG.

Im gonna get shot, but I wanna see Antione Wright here. The kid has a shot, hussles and plays sold D... he hasnt gotten muhc of a chance cuz he was behind carter and jefferson in jersey,a nd is now on dallas.
I liked Antoine Wright the year he came out in the draft, and he was one of the guys I hoped the Magic might select. But he had a chance to show what he could do when Carter/Jefferson would have to sit with injuries, and I don't think he stepped up very often in those games.

i still think we should try to get critterion to back up nelson somehow
memphis seem to go for a combo conley-lowry
maybe JJ and a future 1st(or few 2nd) might work
then MLE to pietrus
resign Evans and dooling
try to bring over fran
Nelson,critterion,dooling
Pietrus,Evans,bogans(expiering contract)
Hedo,Lewis,bogans
