semi OT: Magic fan for...........afterlife??

Post#1 » by happypedro12 » Fri Apr 11, 2008 9:58 pm

I'm watching Outside the lines now and they are showing this company eternal images that does MLB urns and caskets. They cost up to 5 G's but it has the logo and colors. Their even doing it for colleges too! Would you think thats creepy to be buried in a Magic urn and would you worry about what the wife (if u have one) thinks about it. They are only doin it for MLB and colleges right now, but if they do it for NBA and NFL, would you do it? my question is, which team would you pick? cuz i love the magic, but damnit i love my bengals and seminoles too, wonder if they could do a combo. I always wanted my body sent into space with a "revive if possible" note on it, but being put in a casket with Magic black and blue would be sweet.
Whether you think you CAN or you think you CAN'T, you're right.

I wouldn't do it for the Magic, or for any of my other favorite teams.

Just seems tacky to me.

+1

It's nice and emotional when talked about on ESPN, but lets be real here It's all about making money.

I've been a Magic fan my whole life, but that's where it stops.

In some way I almost think it's disrespectful to your family. I can't really say why, and I don't think I can really back up that statement, but it's just seems like it'd be a bit disrespectful to me.

Some things should be above sports; this is one of them.

Edit: lol at the unintentional pun.

I wouldn't. No way I'm taking that curse with me underground. If you put me in a Magic casket, they'd drop it and my corpse would tumble out into the grave. I'd land awkwardly with my butt sticking up in the air. Then thunder would crack and it would start raining. It would be a complete disaster.
11/18/2017 - I have officially disowned Nikola Vucevic and branded him a loser.

- Skal Labissiere was my guy in 2016 pre-trade. Whoops, but I still believe.
- Malik Monk was my guy in 2017. Whoops(?)
- Mo Bamba was my guy in 2018. TBD.

And with the crowd of mourners gasping in shock, your pallbearers would quickly pick you up to put you back inside the casket. However, they would miss, and you would clank off the side and fall out again, whereby a group of pallbearers from a nearby ceremony would swoosh in, grab the rebound, and stuff you back into an opposing casket. It would be so humiliating - NO to this idea.

I love my Magic, but my casket is either going to be the Greek NT symbol or Olympiacos. :D

Makes no sense. Just dump me somewhere out of the way or reuse my body parts if necessary. After I'm dead I won't need this body anymore.

I would be all over this!! You know what would be more awesome, if they included player signatures on the casket. That would be a sweet deal ..man!

I plan on being buried with some Orlando Magic stuff, a jersey or something ..but a casket would take the cake! Or instead of having players sign it, have the casket come with markers so the family can write something on there ..like a player autographing a ball!
