I agree. But this team has shown they can bounce back from bad losses and turn "the switch" on whenever they want. they have been doing this all year. Obviously it doesn't work all the time. I believe momentum is extremely overrated and is only beneficial for teams with a soft mentatlity. If we are a soft team, then we have major personal problems. And maybe we are unlucky and landed ourselfs one of those "soft" franchise playerys in dwight. But i dont think this is the case but we shall see come playoff time.

We're less soft this year than years past, but even Otis has expressed a concern about us being soft this year (although he did nothing about it). More than soft we're inexperienced and young teams often have fragile psyche's...thats why losing to these bottom dwellers is concerning this time of year, especially with all this "lack of respect" talk.

Randy Foye = amazing
Hedo Turkoglu = no i'll just keep shooting the ball, k thanks
Dwight Howard = no composure in the double team
Jameer Nelson = who is Randy Foye?
Rashard Lewis = upset that Turk took that shot

i am honestly not sure whether we are a soft team or not at the moment. We fans haven't had a team like this in 12 years. Nobody knows what to expect out of this team come playoff time. Will we play to our potential or not? none of us have a clue. SVG probably doesn't know either. I think it is better to wait till after the playoffs for everyone to go on little pity parties. People were freaking out in december too acting like this team was doomed.

All I know is I would feel alot better if we werent playing like crap right now and I'm pretty sure I'm not alone. If being concerned about the way your team is playing heading into the playoffs and expressing those concerns is what you consider to be a "pity party", then I guess I'm hosting.

Everything is better when you are winning. But just because you lose several games agains the bottom feeders of the league doesn't mean this team is lost and losing all its momentum come palyoff time. If momentum is what drives this team then we suck anyway. Rashard said this isn't the team we are going to see come playoff time so lets hope he is correct.

But whats the concerns? Nothing new has been observed in these two games that hasn't been a problem all year long. Rebounding and letting our foot off the gas petal. It was even a problem when we had one of the best records in the nba back in november. It is a problem if you expect this team to be a championship contender right now. But if you expect to win a good series in the first round against mediocre competition and then fight but fall in the second round against the team with the second best record in the nba , these are not huge concerns.

i am not saying you can't throw a pity party. Could care less. But remember who we are playing in the first round. Its not like we are going up agains the pistons right off the bat where we should raise the alarms.

You've got an interesting, yet flawed, view imo...I'll leave it at that.

What they need to be most concerned about now is fixing what is wrong with their game right now -- rebounding, failing to get back to the perimeter shooters on help defense, stop gambling by trying to get steals on the drives up the middle by the shooting guards and hitting their free throws. And not just Dwight. Rashard missed a tech free throw and Hedo missed two free throws just shooting too carefree. They don't look ready for the playoffs at all. And yes, the rebounding has been a struggle all season -- but not the problem it has been for especially the past two weeks, when they have been getting just killed by this.

After killing Chicago this week, the Bulls are going to want revenge.

After that, they play in Atlanta. It is impossible for the Magic to win there. I think the Magic made a deal with the devil to get the draft rights to Dwight. Sure, you can have him, but you can never win in Atlanta again as long as he is on your roster.

Then they have the Wizards at home, and the last time the Magic played the Wizards at home, they got beat.

How do you give up a nine-point lead with 4 minutes left to a team with the worst road record in the league? How many fadeaway jumpers can you take in the last three minutes? Did Van Gundy have any play except give the ball to Hedo and let him try to get the shot? I think he is too tired at this point of the season to do that every play. He looks gassed every game now. Van Gundy has used him all up.

Just saw that last foul by Dwight at the end of the game, though. Considering all the contact that was going in there, that was a cheap foul. They easily could have called two or three other fouls in there and some could have gone for the Magic. But it never should have come down to that. I'm not willing to use that as an excuse for them -- not when they had a 9-point lead with 4 minutes to go.

Oh yeah...and I don't want to hear the word "guarantee'' out of the mouths of any of the radio broadcasters for the rest of the season at least.
There are no guarantees with this team.

And I had better not hear the word "respect" out of any of the players' mouths until they win a first-round playoff series. They lose the right to use that word after losing to the two worst teams in the league in the same week at the same time they are trying to gain momentum for the playoffs.

We'll see... Good post.

Keyon Dooling = Give me the last shot

And Keyon Dooling = who is Rashad McCants?

That's who McCants shot over late. Keyon was there, though he jumped at him a little late. All the guards were late on rotating back to their guys during the double teams and no one was covering for them. That's been trouble for most of the Magic players for most of the season, but it's particularly noticeable when it happens on the wings because you have one guy standing out there all by himself and then a Magic player comes flying at him. It's not just the guards, though (although I'll admit that sometimes I see a forward flying at someone and it might be that they are trying to cover late for someone else. Still I don't think it's always the guards' fault).

Dwight wasn't there in the post all by himself on that last Timberwolves play. Rashard was there, too, but unfortunately, he was behind all the Timberwolves and couldn't get his hand on the ball. He tried. There was another Magic player, too, but he was trapped underneath all the rest of those bodies. I couldn't see who it was.
