Local DJ "Anti-Canadian" until after the ORL-TOR s

Post#1 » by Edrock » Wed Apr 16, 2008 8:31 pm

I listen to JRR during my workout hour (around lunchtime) and the lunchtime DJ usually takes calls during the "Liquid Lunch: Non-reality hour" and requests. He's a pretty big Magic fan, and his running theme for the near future will be anti-Canadian, to support the Magic's playoff run... It's all tongue-in-cheek & in good fun (ppl call in claiming to be famous Canadians, giving Crash more fodder). But I thought it was a cool display of local support for the Magic (which seems to be nonexsistent outside the arena). Anyone else notice local media/establishments doing something to support the Magic (viewing parties at local bars, etc...)?

I noticed that Ping on channel 6 sports made absolutely no mention of Dwight breaking an NBA record and an Orlando Magic record last night on the news.

Is this actually true? Or is he a fan now, because of the recent success?

I've heard other local radio personalities talking about the Magic and encouraging people to go to games the past couple of months, since they've been winning.

Nice to know that I'm not the only that thinks that way.

It's more about entertainment than the news ... which annoys me.

Liquid Lunch, that's Crash... I don't recall him being a big Magic fan. I know he shaved his head when UCF broke that losing streak against Marshall.

Toronto is the 4th largest city in all of North America, one of the best night scenes in all of North America as well. Tons of economy, tons of restaurants, malls, things to do. Great scenery GREAT weather in the spring and summer time. Our $ is up to. Plus no crime :)

Yeah, Toronto sucks.

I hope you meant to put a comma after cheek, or else that statement takes on a whole new meaning.
