Well no one has ever accused DS of being a "bright guy".

Its all over LBJ talking stuff about DeShawn (off court) over DeShawn dating/doing all of the Destinys Child chicks (not named Beyonce)...

seriously.

Elsewhere in the locker room before the game, DeShawn Stevenson shed some new light on why he busted out and called LeBron James "overrated" after last Thursday's win over the Cavaliers. In case you didn't notice, the two were jawing at each other all night long and it began before the opening tip.

Apparently, James said something about DeShawn to former Cav Drew Gooden, who recently related that information to DeShawn. He didn't appreciate it.
"We're all in the same profession," Stevenson said. "We don't need to talk bad about one another. So, that's how it happened. I was ticked off and that's why I said something to him at tip-off. So, it goes back further than people think."

I asked DeShawn if what James said was basketball-related or personal and he said: "It was both. I won't say what he said. I said something back and we'll leave it at that."

Here you go prorl I fixed it for you. Having said that maybe its because he is only all there 41 out of 82 games. The rest of the time he is FSN (Forgot to Shave my chiN).

I kinda feel sorry for their whole team, they started talking smack and tried some intimidation tactics, but game 2 showed that they are not mentaly tough as a team to play that game. You could see them imploding right before your eyes.

DS should have kept his mouth shut. He does not have enough ability to back up trash talk.

It was pretty obvious that LeBron would shine while DS would falter.

Happens every time a golfer says something negative about Tiger, as well.

Stevenson raised the stakes again, by telling the Washington Post that James said something personally insulting about him to former teammate Drew Gooden, who passed it on to friend Stevenson, which is the source of his bad feelings.

''We're all in the same profession,'' Stevenson told the Post. ''We don't need to talk bad about one another. . . . I was ticked off and that's why I said something to him at tip-off. So it goes back further than people think.''

When asked about it Saturday in Chicago, the usually talkative Gooden went running from the topic and declined to answer. No doubt he's not thrilled he's been pulled in and is now probably also in James' doghouse for passing along the comment.

Stevenson and James might indeed have some personal stuff behind the scenes. Stevenson has dated LeToya Luckett and Farrah Franklin, both of whom were members of R&B group Destiny's Child. Of course, James is very close to former Destiny's Child member Beyonce Knowles, who is engaged to close friend Jay-Z. James' friend and manager, Maverick Carter, also dated Kelly Rowland, another former Destiny's Child member.

Who knows what all that means, but the point is James and Stevenson move in the same social circles and it has no doubt carried over to the court.

I'll always have a bit of a soft spot for Deshawn. He was a real hard worker when he was with us. For all the talk of his layup troubles and odd looking jumper, he still was able to get to the basket. He still made a lot of midrange j's. Not to mention his defense was great.

As for the trash talk... I get the feeling it may be Arenas influence. I know they have become good friends.
