Former DeLand High School basketball star Keith Brumbaugh has once again declared for the NBA Draft.
Brumbaugh, 23, a 2005 DeLand graduate, played the 2007-08 season at Hillsborough Community College in Tampa, and had an outstanding year. He led all junior college players in scoring with a 34.5 points per game average, to go along with 10 rebounds and six assists.
That's the good news.
Brumbaugh, was arrested six times over a 26-month span that had him serve two jail sentences and bounce from Oklahoma State (he signed with the Cowboys out of high school but never played for them), Chipola Junior College in Pensacola (never played) and finally to HCC last summer (played magnificently).
That's the bad news.
For ever Warren Sapp that out-grows criminal misgivings, there are ten sports-types that do not. This guy has "CAUTION" tattooed on his forehead. I cannot see the Magic experimenting with the local prep-star. But, Miami could be a good fit for him to re-earn some faith.
