Lewis' contract is guaranteed at $112,753,504. From there, there are not well defined (by the media) incentives. This might be up to $6,000,000. But this latter point is not clear at all.

This year, Lewis was paid $14,884,951. To put some perspective to that number, he was only the 21st highest paid player in the NBA.

Over the length or Rashard's contract, it looks VERY UNLIKELY that he will ever be in the top ten in salary earned for the year.

More perspective: these are some players that were paid more this year than Lewis:
Michael Finley
Chris Webber
Stephon Marbury
Steve Francis
Shawn Marion
Antawn Jamison
Ben Wallace
Elton Brand

Not one of those guys had a "significantly" better season than Rashard Lewis, yet none of them field daily questions about their respective salary levels.

Travis Diener is rooting for us.

That's really all they need to be told. Travis Diener gets what he wants.
11/18/2017 - I have officially disowned Nikola Vucevic and branded him a loser.

- Skal Labissiere was my guy in 2016 pre-trade. Whoops, but I still believe.
- Malik Monk was my guy in 2017. Whoops(?)
- Mo Bamba was my guy in 2018. TBD.

Its because none of those same contracts will be around in 6 years

Does anyone actually take offense to that Rashard pic? All it does is make the Pistons fans (if they are the ones that made it) look like idiots, haha.

Our overpaid guy helped us to 50+ wins and the second round. I love that we overpaid to get him.

Bingo!

Look folks, as a comparison to the lowest paid player o the Magic roster, Augustine got paid half a million dollars this year to be a crash-test-dummy against Howard in practice. I agree with StM, every player in the NBA is overpaid!

(Augustine got paid this year more than $3000 per NBA minute played!!!!!)
