he was probably thinking he's pushing Dwight too hard. But yea, in the playoffs Dwight's rest should be maybe 4 minutes per half. He rested him just a little too long (though that's not when we lost the game).

You're right, it wasn't. In fact Gortat represented well. At the time I thought maybe Dwight was hurt or Stan was doing some strange confidence thing with Gortat. If it is that last one, than man does Stan have some cajones.

Yes, about that....What was he thinking exactly??? :banghead:

He does it every game. He's very stubborn about his rotation. Look at box scores throughout the year Orlando usually does bad in the 2nd quarter and Dwight usually sits for half of it. Sometimes 2/3.

I have watched most of the games, and that was longer than normal. He usually puts him back in at the 8 min mark.

Howard rarely sits for 6 minutes. Six minutes is to long.

He has proven to be ineffective and usually disappears when that does happen.

that's his point. he's talking about how pathetic it is that teams just buy coaches for a year, and if they don't get all the way they dump them straight away.

from an outside perspective, i don't think you guys should fire him. he has done well and as other posters have said, he has led you to one of your best seasons and i mean, your roster does not include a superstar scorer per say, just a superstar physical beast center. 52 wins without a go to scoring wing is pretty impressive (i know shard and hedo are good, but they are not 1st tier scorers). so i would say you are in ok shape with svg.

I don't know about that. I think you can say that Avery and the Mavs roster wasn't a very good fit. Avery is a coach who puts importance on defense on a team that doesn't want to play any. They need to move around some players on that team unless they want to play like the Suns were (and backups like Stackhouse and Devin George aren't really designed to play that style of basketball). They need to move either Josh Howard or Jason Terry to find someone who can play some defense on that team. Problem is....with Kidd on the roster now, JT is the guy who can be change of pace player. I'm not sure how marketable Josh Howard is going to be right now. He pulled some of the most boneheaded moves in the playoffs that I have seen anyone do -- on and off the court.

I agree on the Suns and Raps. Suns should have fired Kerr. He's the guy who started all the problems. Now he's going to have to make that team work. Unless they get rid of Diaw and Barbosa for some young guys who will play more half-court basketball and completely change their roster, I don't know how that team works. And then doesn't that kind of negate one of Nash's strengths?

Exactly. Needed to be said.

Edit: Well, not everybody, of course. But there will be a large faction that will. SVG is a very good coach. If he has talented players, he can win.

He's calling for his head NOW. I guess he just wants to skip the preliminaries? Hell, why not just fire every coach every year no matter how they do.

Talk about overreacting.

I understand getting rid of Shard or Nelson, but the coach? He took the all this garbage surrounding Howard to the best they will ever be. He's fine, even if we lose the next three postseasons.

OP was just kidding.

Of course we shouldn't fire SVG. That would be the dumbest move made this decade...which sure says a lot, considering this is the Magic.
