OT: Bulls to get D'Antoni?

Post#1 » by BassMaster » Tue May 6, 2008 1:51 pm

ESPN is reporting that Suns Coach D'Antoni is getting ready to take the next step and become the Bulls next head coach.
First it was Larry Brown to the BobCats and now D'Antoni to the Bulls. Some of the best head coachs are heading back east. If true this time it makes the Bulls another team that will be able to play the Magic unlike this season.

D'Antoni is garbage in my estimation, so I wouldn't group him into the Larry Brown category...

I thought Avery Johnson was a good choice for the Bulls when they mentioned him. D'Antoni doesn't seem as good a fit.

Kind of interesting if Paxon decides to go from a defensive minded coach in Skiles to an offensive minded coach in D'Antoni. Their personalities (at least towards the players) seem to be opposites as well.

I do think the Bulls would fare well in a running offense, so I think D'Antoni might just be a good fit for them. Hinrich, Gordon, Deng, Thomas and Noah seem like a young team that can really run IMO. A lot like the Suns really, just without a Steve Nash and Amare Stoudemire.

Larry Brown concerns me. I'm not concerned about a D'Antoni vs SVG matchup.

And now one of the other news-wires is saying that Avery from Dallas is thinking of coaching in the East. So is that good or bad for the East/Magic???

Agreed. D'Antoni is overrated. Big time.

yep, not worried with it at all. Orlando still has the best coach in the East.

Heck, IMO SVG is the best coach in the league.
