Went to the RDV today...

Post#1 » by theTHIEF » Fri May 9, 2008 7:30 pm

really wanted to try and get in on some ball or at least sit around and watch some practice as usual. didn't get that chance today, but I got to watch Mo Evans work out, very impressive. Everyone knows that he is built pretty solid, but watching him workout today, it's a wonder he's not bigger than he is. I chatted with him for a bit, he remembered out chat a while back, I guess he was thinking that I worked for the club because he said he sees me around a lot, lol stalker...

such a cool dude, he actually likes to talk and not to sound cliche, but is so down to earth...

I thought about asking him what he was looking for $ wise next season, but...I didnt want to be tactless :)

no you cannot watch practice...and you cannot just walk in and workout with the players...you can however get a membership and workout in the regular gym...

Hey my homeboy just moved to Orlando and needs to stay sharp this offseason before he goes back overseas, where can i get him to get a high level basketball workout at? Or at least some quality competition so hes not just wasting his time?

that's tough...I haven't really found a drove of super good competition, not the type a player would be looking for outside of just basic up and down...I would say that the best place for good games without a lot of the typical blah blah would be the Edgewater HS, RDV, UCF had some good guys out there both times I went, Valencia was pretty decent, Kissimmee Civic center is good usually and Park Central, which is normally PACKED with about 40 or more kids waiting...

Its just hard to find a place to where theres guys that can match up height wise. I'll try Civic Center or something, he might be better off just doing drills to stay sharp.

Baldwin Park has some decent talent. Occasionally you'll get some kids from Goldenrod (Goldenrod park has nothing but ball hogs.)

But people at Baldwin like to run a lot.
