Well, if my math is correct, if we take out 22% from close range, we get that rest 38% of his jumpshots Tony took at ~ .34%.

The close range shots are not in the Jump shots. If you notice 60% of FGA are jump. The 22% in the close are a part of the other 40% as "inside shots".

A) Link? and Link?

B) Jump shots range from short range to beyond the arc (not arch). Tony's jump shot takes him away from the paint - which is good when playing with Dwight - as we say for several seasons.

Jump hooks and turn around jump shots from the post are considered jump shots on 82 games. Anything that says jump on the box score the software will consider it a jump shot.

I would love to give you the link but nba.com/hotzones for some reason doesn't consider Battie part of the team anymore.

My problem with Battie is that he can't run the court with the rest of the team. By the time the play is almost over he will finally get down the court.
Remember SVG wants this team to run, Battie can't do that anymore if he ever really did. Slowest player on the team.
The Magic need a good pickup this draft of a good PF like one of the Lopez's that would help Dwight with banging the boards and being able to run the court with the rest of the team. That's not Battie.

We don't need a PF.

We need a SG, one who can pass, defend, rebound and shoot. One who has good ball movement, sees the open man etc.

We have good passers and ballhandlers like Nelson who can dish out and keep the ball moving, we have Hedo...2 players who can do that, maybe very slightly Shard too. If we can snatch a SG with some good passing abliities our ball movement will become more effective and consistant. That's when we're at our best.

Agree
In order of importance:
1. SG Someone like a Tayshaun Prince (play well in every aspect of the game and great to share the ball)

2. Tough backup PF that gets good minutes (this is where Battie comes in)
3. Backup PG that's tall, a good defender, and has decent offense

Exactly....

And to add a little more insight I'll fill in the blanks with my wish list.

1. Childress

2. Battie, and Fran.
3. Douglas-Roberts. I am getting higher on him the more I learn about him. He was recruited as a pg for the Tigers. Not bad at all.

So, we should just take your word for it?

I sure hope no one saw Tony Battie as a savior.
