Get Baron on this team

Post#1 » by Pancho_Pantera » Sat May 10, 2008 7:01 pm

He would solve a lot of our problems. Plus I think he can be even better in a system we run since we would utilize more of his half court offensive skills, which is what he is probably at his best.

Plus he would always destroy us in the postseason. He needs to be a Magic.

This should be in the thread about what the Magic need in the off season. Not another new thread. Hello mods.

???What are you guys thinking??? He is one of the most selfish players in the league next to Gilbert Arenas. He's a huge ball hog, is always injured, very inconsistent as he shows up some nights and others he's MIA. He's an outstanding talent who, in my opinion, has yet to reach his full potential but these issues make me want to keep him as far away from this team as possible. BTW his salary is way too expensive for us.

Baron always shows up for the playoffs though, isn't there where we need him most?

We don't have anything to offer so why even start the conversation. In fantasy I would love to get Baron. Having 2 of the most unguardable players at there position could go pretty far.

Jameer > Baron.

We need a capable SG, RIP torched us last night, before that it was Kapono etc. if we had a capable SG we would've been up 3-1 in this series.

I said Jameer > Baron not because I think Jameer is better, that would be silly to think, but because I think for the salary they're making I'd much prefer Jameer, as shown during the playoffs, Jameer is capable of being a PG starter during the playoffs, and is good at that. Baron takes A LOT of shots, and shoots a horrible FG%. I also don't think he'd be a good fit for this team, we need Jameer, who can take limited amount of shots yet make most of them when it matters the most. He's not gonna whine cause he takes only 10 shots a game, no, Baron will.

Good post. This says it all. Plus, he's another year older. We'd have a one year window with him. No thanks.

Baron is an interesting player, his size would be enormous for the East. He shoots the 3 ball... Do we have the funds?

Like many others who posted here no way you can keep Baron Davis another player that the Magic do not need.

Obviously it's not like Baron would hurt our team.

But we have absolutely no way of getting him, so there's no reason for this thread.

Baron Davis would go well with this team.

We seriously need a PG, and some height in the back-court. He plays our style of basketball, and makes the right plays. And let me remind you he can take control of the game. We don't have a player who can do that. Everything he does is pretty much a plus.

The bad about it is we would have to trade hedo. Which I'm okay with since Baron Davis is an Bonified Superstar in this league.

And since most of our team is over 25 years old why not?

Anybody comparing Baron Davis to Steve Francis doesn't watch games. Baron Davis is a true PG. He can take a lot of shots because he such a tough cover. Unlike Francis who was really just a undersized SG. Baron can run a team as well as anyone not named Paul and Nash.
