That's not the point. The dress code was attacking the players who would show up wearing retro jerseys and such... primarily the black players. There was no need for it. I understand that companies require people to dress a certain way, but all that mattered to David Stern was to restore the "image" of the league away from the "rap" image and appealing to the people who were disenchanted with the league. Good business move yes, but it's still trying to appeal to the white population. Plus it was such a random time to make the dress code especially when David Stern should have cared more about checking the accountability of the refs.
