Around the league

Post#1 » by flyingvee » Mon May 19, 2008 4:56 pm

Just thought I'd throw out some of the trade rumors around the league. The Nets and Nuggets discussing a swap of Jefferson and Williams their pick and filler for Carmelo AND Camby? Have no clue why they would do that. Carmelo definately better than Jefferson and Camby is a valuable big man. Weird things happening lately in NBA trades. Boston stocking up and giving up little. Gasol to the Lakers for nothing.

Also what about Cleveland? I think for them it comes down to bad coaching. At the end of last year with the team they had you figured they finish as the 2 seed this year behind Boston and their moves. They starte dout slow due to the contract squabbles of verajao and Pavlovic, but then they manage to pick up Ben Wallace, Wally Z and Joe Smith and still only finish 4th. Similar to how I have felt about the Nets before they dealt Kidd. Thats roster was stacked and that team should have been challenging Boston for the Atlantic. Again Frank is an awful coach. Not taking swipes at us, but you compare the rosters of Cleveland and the Nets (w Kidd) and the Magic, and you know those teams should be winning. Goes to show what kind of job Stan did with what he had.

So back to Denver, I don't know why they would make this trade, IF they do. Camby would look good next to Dwight. It's too bad Lewis isn't the caliber player that Jefferson is otherwise would be cool if we offered Lewis and........ thats just it, we don't ahve anything to offer.

Don't want Camby actually. As for the nets making that trade, it seems pretty good for them. In regards to their talent level, for them or Cleveland, it is not a clear bet that they are more talented. After Lebron cleveland is a joke. Z and Ben Wallace? The nets don't even have that franchise player. So yeah, I'll take Orlando.

that's actually not a bad trade for denver because then they slide AI to his natural position at the 2 and put in williams (a true point guard) at the 1, combined with jefferson and k-mart...the pick you figure would we probably the 10th or 11th so they pick up either mcgee at that pick or move up with that pick and possibly jr smith or linas kleiza and snag deandre jordan or brook lopez if he slips, that would be a nice line up

pg-williams/carter/atkins
sg-iverson/smith
sf-jefferson/diawara/jones
pf-martin/najera
c-jordan/nene/hunter

they have 2 roster spots open, good enough for 2 vets to come in and help, ala pj brown/gary payton to mentor the youngsters such as williams and jordan (especially the rookie because williams has been in the league 2 years and has played with kidd and harris and would be playing with AI)

i dont know about you guys but that would be a good team if they could listen to karl
I live rent free in your head. You know who you are :D

Not changing this sig until Magic win a championship. Started 6/26/2015.

trading carmelo for the right guy could help them immensely, but they could easily screw up... i dont know if jefferson is the right guy...

If Denver trades Melo to NJ, Me thinks it would have to be Jefferson and Harris, not Williams

The Magic can, and definitely should, offer a better package than that.

Shard would never get a shot off.

Dwight would only get put backs for FGAs.

Denver must be tiring of Anthony.

I don't blame them either.

However, if they trade him, the Nuggets will lose on the deal.
Basketball is driven by three principles:

1) Movement 2) Application of fundamentals 3) Predictability
