The last time I went to visit my folks my father took me to the dog track in Daytona. They have a bunch of tables and even tournaments. I think the raises were $2/$4/$8 limits, but I can't be sure. Its not enough to scare anyone away, so you really need to have the cards. The tourneys are all in though, and I believe they even have a re-buy. Its fun and a good way to work on your game vs. the internet. You can't get a read on people on the net like you can in person. :D

there are a few dog tracks around, and a few bars have poker games as well (though they're usually for prizes, not money).

Of course, there are several home games as well in the area, especially the UCF area. My old roommate runs a friday night $1/2 no-limit hold'em game. Minimum buy-in is $100, max $300 (start of night, later in the night max buy-in is whatever the largest stack is on the table). Free food and drinks (usually pizza or chinese food, and beer, soda, and water), game starts at around 8pm and lasts all night, sometimes till as late as 10am (basically till everyone decides to go home). $100 free roll at the start of the night.

ship me an e-mail on jwillis@usa.com if you're interested, just make sure to tell me who you are on realgm.

I used to play at a bar in Cassleberry a few nights a week, but it got shut down. I have noticed the games at bars have become less and less. for cash games.

Like everyone else has said, you need to go to dog tracks. I went have gone to the Hard Rock in Tampa and Ft. Lauderdale and have found some good limit games.

The best place to go is a medium sized casino in Vegas. The big hotels have a lot of "professional" players, but the mid level casinos like the Monte Carlo have a good mix of seasoned players and tourists wanting to sit a play poker in Vegas. Just don't bring a girl! She will be nagging you at 4am to come to bed! If you do bring your lady, make sure you go with other people so you can send her our on the town with other girls!

Smokey Bones in Waterford Lakes has poker nights on Tuesday and Thursday nights at 7:30 (should get there earlier to assure a spot). It's free to play but you only win a $100 gift card for first place.

i dropped by the poker room in ocal on the way home from orlando and the lady who seemed quite misinformed told me the buy ins were 40 and 60 dollars. does this mean your minimum amount you can sit down with is 40 and 60 and how exactly does the whole poker room work. if you could email me at fredcruz@ufl.edu id appreciate it because i would like to actually check this place out.
