I didn't say anything about his blogging I was talking about when he started writing about sports period.

What? This is what you posted on the previous page:

cougar13 wrote:-= original quote snipped =-Hey from what I gather Schmitz didn't have that much experience when he started his blog.
It would be great if it wasn't a joke/most likely as you said it is just that.

No matter how you look at it, Schmitz has a lot of experience sports writing because he has been doing it for at least 15 years. So however you determined that he doesn't have much experience -- blog or newspaper -- well, it's just plain incorrect. I'm not really interested in continuing this discussion for pages, but I don't see how you can dispute that the guy has experience.

Well he certainly doesn't write like he has all of the experience that you say he has. He writes like some hack that needs his 15 minutes of fame off of any player that he can get to say one thing and then he changes all the words to fit his spin. When I studied journalism in college they talked about a certain kind of writing that was really big in the late 1800's early 1900's it was called "Yellow Journalism" Brian Schmitz writings remind me of this kind of writing.
Then there is John Denton now this is a guy who knows how to write and is greatly respected throughout the world of journalists for his integrity and great writing style. Plus you know when you read what he has quoted from players you know you are really hearing from those players. Unlike................................

A little harsh?

BS does not provide much useful insight and is usually a step or two behind Denton, but I think that's just because the guy is burned out.

He used to be a columnist (like Bianchi, Whitley) and hit the wall.

Certainly not the last time an over-exaggeration presented in a dogmatic manner is used for effect and not for accuracy of statement.

Since the June 11th "joke," Schmitz has not posted on the basketblog. Hmm.

Also, I cannot find a story from him in the last week. Hmm.

Your prayers weren't answered, Cougar.

Did you notice he had a story in Thursday's Sentinel?

More blogging from Schmitz':
Gentlemen, start your wheeling and dealing.

Just about everything leading up to today in the NBA war rooms has been intramurals, especially the mock drafts and trade rumors which are more amusing and annoying to teams than accurate.

I can tell you that the Internet Age drives most GMs bananas because it's a lot of 24-7 gossip.
