Frankly, the one team I actually trust Otis to find a gem on is GS. Coming from Don Nelson's "system" to Stan will teach Air France a lot about the game.

Pietrus can (and will) knock down shots from anywhere at any time, perpetually hustle and play aggressive defense. Some calming down of his frenetic play will be in order, but the security of a big contract and guaranteed playing time will certainly serve to make Pietrus a much more dependable player.
GRADE: A-
Cougar, there are other opinions out there on Pietrus.
But it's no fair to quote the one from his mom!

Ugh, how bored we get during the offseason. 5 pages and counting on this joke of a topic.

You beat me to it! When I saw this thing had 5 pages, I was like "whoah, the off-season must be officially over or something".
BTW DMannOC, I still crack up sometimes when seeing your avatar and thinking back to the whole "gay love in California trade scenario". Instant classic IMO.

Re: The Real Pietrus

I just want this season to start already, im gonna die of bordum. Nothing against other sports but when Baseball takes up 70% of the time on sportcenter it makes me sad.
P.S. Otis if youre reading this forums could you please pick up the phone and give josh powell a call, get him on the cheap and then extend Gortats contract before the rest of the NBA realized what i already know Gortat>Shaq in his prime

Like I've said. MP long and athletic but for people to instantly call him an upgrade are not looking at what he did in GS. Him in GS was one of the most hair pulling players in the NBA.
My biggest issue with this signing was the money. IMO Otis once again shows he has no clue on player value. MP agent was crying one day that Pat Riley wouldn't give him much more than half the MLE and then the next he gets almost the full MLE from Otis. In the meantime comparable players like James Jones who is better and Sasha signed for much less.
We paid MP based on what he could be become. Perhaps to some extent we did the same with Rashard. For MP he better become a lot better than he was. Watching him the past few years I would say he closer to falling off as a player than becoming anything special. His ball handling is limited. He kind of like Bowen who makes sideline 3 pointers but all other 3 pointers are really out of his range. I really think that Nelson saved him in a big way. I'm wondering if going back to playing in a half court style he going to go back to the really bad habits that had him looking like a no doubt bust.

This is what I have been saying, but then have others behaving like their heads are stuck in the sand.
BTW here is one interesting part about his leaving the fans were sorry to see him gone as a person because so friendly to everyone, but as a player they were happy he is no longer playing for the Warriors.
