if the Grizz are taking this seriously, they might look to make some more cap room, for like maybe a TPE or something...hmmmm

That's a pretty bold move by the Grizz, and a very good lineup for the next decade like someone here said.

I wasn't thinking of Pau lite or Darko as far as Centers for some reason either. When I first saw the wiretap I thought they could still reap some havoc even without a center, but even with Darko thats a damn good team in the near future...

Thief, wouldn't you assume that Memphis frontloaded the contract just to have a better chance of getting him??? What do you think it would take for ATL not to be able to match?

I thought they wouldn't have enough to sign both Josh's but now with Chill gone couldn't they match any contract if needed?

If I was an ATL fan, I'd want the Hawks to match the offer, because they are probably one of the best young teams in the league that is only a year or two away from making deep playoff runs with Smoove. But, from what I understand, the Hawks did not want to pay him over 10 mill. Im not sure of the term of the offer, but if its 5 yrs., then hes getting 11.6. I think he deserves the 11.6 at most. Im skeptical about whether the frugal Hawks front office wants to give him that much money.

For the Grizz, it would be a good pick-up, making a nice young core consisting of Rudy Gay, OJ, Conley, and Smoove. As a Magic fan, I'd be happy to see him out of the division.

Interesting. For the price, you would think that Atl would match quickly. Specially when you consider that they lost Childress to Europe, i am sure a ton of their fans are mad at management for that. It would look real bad PR wise if they did not match. However with their ownership group being so stingy and unorganized its hard to tell what they are thinking. If they match its a no brainer but if they dont match i would not be suprised either.

strange...
the offer is lower than i expected. i'd think hawks would offer him more than that.. grizz is obviously looking at getting him cheap at this price.
match? its a no-brainer.
they will match.

also, hey there Mo...

You know its true lol, every thread I go in now it seems like someone is praising you or asking your advice on a situation. An most of the time its simple common sense stuff that the person is capable of forming their own answer to. Nothin against you, but its pretty annoying.

Hey Mo What is your opinion on the hawks matching for smith? is it a good move for them? Sry I had to be a jerk about it. just kidding Mo. I always will be asking questions to whomever I think knows stuff about the topic. Please dont forget I have only been watching B-Ball for just over a year now so I am still kinda new to the sport.
