New Magic uniform for 2015/16?

Came across this on another board. It's a leaked photo of uniform updates for next season. Looks like we might be getting a new 'Pride' jersey - looks darker in colour than last year's.

The uni is the first one on the left under the 'Pride' section. I hope it says Orlando on the front though my eyes might be playing tricks on me.

I don't think that says Orlando. Looks like "city" at the end. Can't really make it out. It's like it was shot on a potato.

edit: I keep wanted to say it says Buzzcity or Bullcity or something. The pride uniforms get those cutesy name (one says Clutch city). It's possible that buzzcity is it and it is ours, but seems unlikely.

I think if the Magic actually want to change and become a winning team, a new regular uniform is a why to denote a change in mindset.

I know what you mean. It's not clear at all. I'm not sure which other team's colour scheme it could be though. Looks like black pinstripes to me. It could say 'city' at the end but it looks like one word rather than two. They could be nice if it does turn out to be ours.

I understand them from a consumer perspective. Standard NBA jerseys are not flattering to the adult male body. The sleeves definitely make them more appealing to the consumer. From a player perspective, they are restrictive and look terrible compared to the standard jersey.

We are not getting anything this year. It would appear a rebrand is due this coming summer though.

I wish they would open it up to be a contest. Local artists submit their ideas, management picks a handful of favorites, and then the city votes. Maybe not even the city votes...just season ticket holders. Seems like a solid way to get people talking about the Magic and interested again.

I really think they dropped the ball by not re-branding and getting new uniforms this year. This team is coming out of such a terrible era for this organization with the Dwight stuff and all the losing that came afterwards. Time for some fresh starts. We already got a new coach, no more tanking as well I hope, so why not add to that and start a new era with this organization with a re-branding? No more boring logo with terrible font, no more ugly side panels on the jerseys, and hopefully no more sleeve jerseys (although those will probably stick around until Nike takes over).

If there is a uniform change I think it might coincide with Nike taking over NBA apparel. So 2 more seasons away IMO.

I actually thought it to be the opposite. If you are Adidas and have only minimal time left to make money from the NBA...wouldn't you want to pump out some new jerseys to increase revenue?

Fair point - it will be interesting to see. I guess it depends how Adidas feel. New jersey designs etc cost more than just riding it out for a year.

If they do bring out something new, probably better off waiting for the Nike version the following year as it will undoubtedly have changes.

At least the NBA isn't football / soccer, a new home and away strip every season.
