I think he has a case for 5th or 6th. Maybe 7th if Whiteside can keep it up or 8th if Drummond takes a leap. But i think he's in the top 10 and will remain in the lower part of that range for the next few years.

Drummond, Vucevic, Jordan...these guys are all currently better than Gobert. You list Gobert and his 8 ppg and 9 rpg as the 4th best center in the league, and then wonder if Drummond and his 13 and 13 can make the leap? Good God.

1-Marc Gasol
2-Dwight Howard
3-DeMarcus Cousins
4-Andre Drummond
5-DeAndre Jordan
6-Nikola Vucevic
7-Joakim Noah(It seems a lot of people are down him. Guy had an injury plagued season, he's still very good.)
8-Al Horford
9-Greg Monroe
10-Rudy Gobert

Absent from this list is Brook Lopez, who is as soft as Charmin. Not only does he not belong in the top 10 for his having the worst combo of rebounding and defense of any big man in the league, but his brother is actually not only better, but a significantly better center than he is.

I think the reason most people rank Gobert so high is because he anchored the beat defense in the league post all-star break (once he started games and started getting significant minutes).

His numbers post all-star break were 11ppg 13.4rpg and 2.5bpg.

That a good enough reason?

Yes. Because Gobert took the leap midseason when he was given the opportunity. In the year 2015 in 50 games he averaged 10-11-3blks-60%fg in 31 mpg with elite defense and playing at the slowest pace in the league. Meanwhile Drummond is making Howard look like a good FT shooter. Can't even crack 40% what a joke. You have to sit him in the 4th. Then you have his inconsistent defense. I'll take Gobert over Drummond 10/10.

Yeah. I'm picking Gobert over Drummond all day if given the choice...And picking Vooch over both their asses.

Vučević is currently third in the league for Blocks per game.

Gobert was a more impactful player last year after the Kanter trade. What Drummond is doing this season has nothing to do with my rankings. I said Drummond will move up on my list if he improves.

I really like Vuc. I think that kid has a ton of potential. I remember loving his game in College. If I was drafting a team and had my pick of guys. he might be the first center I choose ... because Gasol is starting to get up there in age and Boogie is bloody crazy. As gifted as he is, he's a total wildcard.

To me, I'd have Vuc 3rd

1. Marc Gasol
2. DeMarcus Cousins
3. Nikola Vucevic
4. Al Horford
5. Dwight Howard
6. Rudy Gobert
7. Hassan Whiteside
8. Andre Drummond
9. DeAndre Jordan
10. Jonas Valanciunas

I don't rank Howard at the very top because he is only truly IMPACTFUL in one out of every 5 games he plays ...

I love Gobert's game, but I can't rank him at the top when he is essentially a 1 way player ... he needs to expand his offensive game. Same goes for DJ. He attempts 4 shots per game and we are looking at him as an elite center?

Hassan has been consistent for almost 12 months ... and fact is, coach's have to game plan for him on both ends of the floor. He can step out, he runs well, and we know what he can do on D. He deserves mention.

Also, I never would have listed him in the top 15 last season, but THIS season JV is definitely top 10. He's almost averaging 16 and 11 and is playing really good D. He is also getting 4th quarter minutes he didn't get in the past. Anytime Toronto needs a bucket, they go looking for him.

1-Marc Gasol
2-Dwight Howard
3-DeMarcus Cousins
4-Andre Drummond
5-DeAndre Jordan
6-Nikola Vucevic
7-Joakim Noah(It seems a lot of people are down him. Guy had an injury plagued season, he's still very good.)
8-Al Horford
9-Greg Monroe
10-Rudy Gobert

i think he's top 5 if he continues to show improved defense, small sample so far but his DRTG is 97 and this is while we've been playing elite competition

I think if you put McGee back then, he would get those blocks just as easily as Russell did. Russell's athleticism was well ahead of the players of his time, and that's about it.

New news:

Vucevic hasn't done any on-court work since he suffered the injury Wednesday, but team medical staff have treated the injury with electrical stimulation and ice.

He continues to feel pain when he walks.

"It's getting better," Vucevic said. "It's not as sore and painful today."
