Would today's legend be considered great depending on competition?

I was watching Pistol Pete highlight clips and he averaged 40 + ppg in college, but while he was a great player I doubt he would do the same in today's game with the level of competition!

Another one is Wilt Chamberlain average 37 ppg and 27 rbg his rookie year. That's unreal...

In the 1961–62 season, Oscar Robertson went for 30.8 points, 12.5 rebounds and 11.4 assists.

I think in today's era those players would be just as good. Wilt would really dominate now with the decline of the center position over the last 15 years. Only prime Dwight could give him any resistance. People seem to forget too that despite the flash of NBA players nowadays, the legends of the past were much more fundamentally sound.

I agree about players being more skilled back then, but athletically would have had a disadvantage guarding a Westbrook, Rose, Durant and etc.

Adam Morrison would have been a decent player back in those days IMO!
