Injuries happen, but it becomes a bad signing (and not just dumb luck) when the player basically coasts through the season on IR with something relatively minor. More than 2 months for a strained calf with all indications being he's still not even close to coming back? Either, a) it's more than a strained calf and they're lying, or b) C.J. is closing out his career by using his $4.5 million of Orlando Magic paid vacation time in sunny Florida.

(2) more years guaranteed salary and that is $5 mil per!!!

I believe only 1 mil is guaranteed for the final year.

It's kinda sad at this point. We had so much hope for him and this is such a buzz kill.

A severe calf strain can take up to 6 weeks or more to completely heal. So if its a severe calf strain then the timing could be right(Haven't looked at the timetable). I don't think we need to jump to "He's closing out his career by using $4.5 million of Orlando Magic paid vacation time in sunny Florida" when none of us have a clue about how bad it is. It creates this negative persona and with how flighty, and sensitive this fan base is the slightest bit of negativity even if it is completely based on conjecture becomes 100% fact.

No, but he is bordering Sub-Duhon territories as a player.

yeessh, take it easy...he'll be back around the all-star break...what's with this Duhon comparison? Watson had his best year ever last season. He'll be fine, and when he returns it will be a nice vet talent addition to give the Magic an extra boost going into the key part of the season.

Like I said, Flighty and sensitive fan base. In no realm is he approaching sub-Duhon territories. Stop overreacting.

Watson is most definitely overrated on these boards.

How? Give me an example of when someone overrated him. I think the highest praise people have given him is serviceable/solid which is supported by his career numbers.

Are you talking about Chris Duhon?
6.5ppg 4.5aps 2.3rpg .8spg 1.5to .363 from Three on 25.6mpg

Or Watson:
7.7ppg 2.5apg 2rpg 1spg 1.1to .382 from Three on 20.6mpg

By your standards, Duhon is just as Serviceable if not moreso by his Assists numbers than Watson!!!!!

And for your question, about half this board was overrating him the first month he was signed as if he was the 2nd coming of Deiner!!! 8-)
