I think you aren't giving the chance of Durant to the magic enough thought. Durant has played his entire career in the powerhouse western conf and watched Lebron waltz into the finals every year without breaking a sweat. Durant wantsto come to the East and team up with another stud and turn this young promising team into his team which will only have to beat the Cavs and be in the NBA finals every year with a shot for a ring. The Magic are willing to spend as much money as needed to keep Durant happy, something OKC won't do. Future is bright in Orlando and Durant will be our savior. KD would be insane not to consider it and he is going to do it.

Would KD really come play for Scott Skiles and a group of young guys that have never even made the playoffs before? I dont think so.. I'd love to be wrong though!

Would KD love to be the face of the franchise and be the first retired # in Magic history? I think so. He would be the king of the East. It would cement his place in history and he wouldn't have to worry about sharing the spotlight with Westbrook. Even if we miss the playoffs Durant knows one superstar can transition a team from treadmill to contender in the Eastern conference. Just look at Lebron and the Cavs for perfect example. KD would love to be in a situation where the team could be run like the spurs, where you have great locker room chemistry and a group of hardworking selfless players coming together for one common goal. We don't need to make the playoffs, but rather show him the potential in Gordon and Hezonja to get him 100% on board.

Does KD want to come and be a babysitter? He is already playing with a top 10 player.

Boston has just as much space as we do I believe. They also have an all-star on their roster, a great coach, and an elite defense. They will also have a top pick that can be used to chose another great young prospect or traded for another star. They are a Historic franchise too.

Washington is his hometown and has a perrenial all star in Wall, one of the better young guards in Beal, and will have a coaching vacancy so they can hand choose the coach he wants.

He can go to Golden State and form the best team in history. LAL always seems to be a draw for FAs. Dallas as well.. Or he could just stay in OKC with another elite player and great supporting cast and finish the job there.

I also wouldn't be surprised if Durant took the 1+1 LeBron deal and stayed in OKC and became a free agent again next year. A lot of top free agents could do this, because the cap is going to jump again.

KD won't have to babysit, but rather mentor. He will have a team that he can play and develop until he retires. KD, Vuc, AG, Hezonja, Dipo, Payton can all play 10+ years together and form something something that has never been formed before besides the Spurs. Boston is an awful fit as they have no bigs going forward and their all star is barely better than a peak Jameer Nelson. GS is nice but you still have a tough road out of the west and it would tarnish his individual legacy. I dont see KD wanting to join up in GS. LAL are garbage and going no where quickly. Washington is in the same mold as Boston, they would have great 1,2 and 3 but no bigs. The culture and dynamics of the current magic team match KDs personality and style and he has close ties with Rob.

Skiles plans to use Ilyasova and Jennings off the bench, and they could help the Magic in close games.

So to me, it's safe to say the line-up will remain Payton-Dipo-Fournier-Gordon-Vooch.

Safe? With Skiles as coach and two of his former starters coming in? Maybe for now, but I can see him eventually being tempted to start one or both if he gets annoyed with payton or gordon.

Oh yeah, I was definitely referring to the initial starting line-up.

I'd be surprised if the line-up wasn't tinkered with to include one of the two new guys down the road.

If Payton and Gordon both stay healthy, I still feel like they're going to have to really earn their demotion. Otherwise, I could see one of them getting hurt, Skiles replacing them temporarily, us rattling off a few wins in a row, and then he makes the lineup change permanent.

Payton is significantly better than Jennings, and healthier too.
