Elf ain't going anywhere. He is just young and needs more seasoning. He is not ready to lead a team fighting for the playoffs on his own yet.

You do know how long ankle injuries can take to fully recover from right? You do know he sprained both of his ankles right?
Yeah, I like the excuse where teams have "changed how they're guarding him" better. Because last season and early this season every team thought he was a knock down shooter

Re: PAYTON NEXT
payton was fine until he got hurt
then the magic let him play thru his injuries and make them worse
only recently has he seemed to be getting back to form
in short magic fans are fickle, you all change your views every 5 games

aol4532 on bill russell
I think if you put McGee back then, he would get those blocks just as easily as Russell did. Russell's athleticism was well ahead of the players of his time, and that's about it.

Actually his shooting has improved.
Slightly. But teams still go behind screens daring him to shoot. Hitting 0.7 out of 1.2 3pt attempts is exactly improving that much. Payton plays within his means, the problem is when you can't shoot it also effects your ability to facilitate and score in other ways.
Payton is shooting in the mid-40s from 3 point range since 1/1/16. Admittedly on low volume but the volume has started to pick up a bit and that is a very good percentage. I have no idea what you are saying on .7 out of 1.2 -- that would be 58% and the best percentage in the league.
It will be interesting to see if Payton can keep up his significantly improved 3 pt shooting post-ASB.
