I don't see a reason to not keep the pick. There aren't many surefire STARS... but there are a lot of very solid players. With the massive uptick in salaries... I think finding quality value in the draft is very important for the longevity and growth of the team. I would only trade the pick as part of something bigggg.... not just a trade for the sake of it....

We're in a great position to pick a solid rotational player at #11 which is why I think the pick still carries value around the league.

I could def see a team throwing Boston-Winslow esque offers for players like Brown/Skal/Valentine

Hennigan will def be fielding offers.

If they don't take Demetrius Jackson they're playing the game wrong. Could be our starting point guard or at worst the scoring backup.

If The Magic were to get #1 or even #2, it would be bigger than anything The Magic can do in free agency outside of miraculously luring Kevin Durant to town.

They have 8 combinations out of the 1000.

May they get lucky...........

Yes sir. I believe we were suppose to have #11 pick in 93, 1 in 66 odds. It can happen. A small chance, but a chance.

2nd attempt, we got the 3rd pick. I'd love to move up solely to be able to use it in a trade. None of these top prospects really intrigue me, I like Hield and Murray a lot but neither will probably go top 3.

Ford updated his little mock game btw, I think updated just means took Rabb out: http://espn.go.com/nba/lottery2016/mockdraft

Orlando has a 90.7% chance to draft 11th. But what's tough to swallow is Orlando has a much, much greater chance to draft 12th (6.3%) than collectively be in the top 3 (1.82%).

We are less than two weeks away from the big day.

Even though the odds are long, It always gets my heart racing leading up to the opening of those envelopes.

A lot of different things I'll be watching besides if The Magic somehow are not there at #11.

- The Lakers Pick: If it falls out of the Top-3, The Magic can get it in 2018. If The Lakers are in the top-3 after the lottery anytime in the next two years, that very nice first will become 2 2nds and that would suck.

- Other teams: We do not want New Orleans (Anthony Davis pairing), Brooklyn (Boston) has this) or Minnesota (A possible Big three with Towns and Wiggins) to get too strong with a really good pick.

The first two issues are the ones I'll be watching for but until then, let's dream for Orlando having lottery luck.

I admire your optimism. I think the NBA gods frown on us since they gave us the #1 overall pick 3 times and we didn't win a championship with it.

Only reason I'd even want to move up in this draft are to
A) Kick the Lakers out of the top 3.
B) Have a better trade asset.

But I trust Rob if he drafts Ingram/Simmons. Just don't think either have superstar potential.

Regardless, it's a better asset and if they get #1 or #2, they should use it unless The Magic get a package that this league has never seen before.

at least one of Simmons and Ingram are going to be a star.

I really don't see it, but it's not my job to evaluate. If I had to put money on it, I'd bet on Simmons. Neither look like great odds for stardom to me though.

They are still very young.

Did anyone expect Stephen Curry to be as good as he is?

Realistically I am simply hoping for the LA pick to be out of the top-3 and Boston's (Nets) to be out of the top-2.

In that, Boston does not get an ace Simmons or Ingram, and Orlando's acquisition of the Lakers pick has a moderate hope of being a mid-lottery pick in 2017 (I expect a free-agent bonanza in LAL).

I kind of hope the Suns move up to #1. They don't seem to ever be high in the lotto and they're a small market. Wouldn't mind seeing them catch a break.

Ingram has star potential IMO. Elite measurable, already has good scoring ability w/ range, plays defense, and he's a good athlete. Really young for his class too (more than a year younger than Simmons). Can't see whats stopping him from becoming a Paul George kinda guy

Return to Orlando Magic
