Not ever a fan of Destin but this isn't out of the realm of possibility. Looks like the avg win total for teams to make the 6th seed is around 44.3 so imo 7th or 8th seems plausible. However, don't forget that the only two teams in the east that may have gotten worse are the Heat and Hornets. at least imo, and we aren't the scariest of teams scoring wise. I think we're an 8th seed, possibly a 7th.

No for sure, I don't mind that result at all. The sarcastic tone and typical mocking of the team and all of our staff, players, and personnel is exhausting. I've literally never ever seen homeboy post anything remotely positive.

OF course. I wouldn't mind it either.

This is why I am not sold once again to this upcoming season. Both were unstable and shaky at times. Their lethargic plays gave me some impression that they thought they have a switch button to turn on or off whenever they like to. That is arrogance. Their lack of talent must be compensated by a 101% effort and energy. Darrell Armstrong is not the most talented player but he gives 101% in effort and energy.

Payton's body language says it all. Whenever he missed a shot, stripped the ball from his hands, blocked his shots or turnover he automatically drop his head and shoulder. That's a sign of low confidence and low self esteem. Now putting our new season in the hands of 2015-2016 Elfrid and Aaron is really not encouraging.

On the other-hand, IF they come up HUGE this season. I mean 101% passion, energy and show up ready to play every single game. With a new coach and Ace defensive players, to fall back to; the Magic should be able to get 6 or 7th spot and lose the first round. Will that be enough to convince Ibaka to stay?
At no point did AG play lethargic nor does he turn the proverbial switch on and off. That guy goes 100% the whole time he's on the floor. Payton did imo although he turned it up towards then end of the season. He's the one that needs to find that balance. Of course that could've been injury or just part of the learning curve under a brand new coach. We can only guess.

When Skiles took that away and Payton had to find a way to fit into Skiles' new system, things didn't work out as planned and he ended up getting frustrated throughout the entire year. It was obvious that Skiles and Payton didn't see eye to eye and it showed on the court. If Watson was healthy, I think Payton would've rode in Skiles' doghouse... especially with the way Skiles prefers vets.

But that's still not a completely fair excuse for all of Payton's woes. His FT shooting was pathetic. ...and there were times when he needed to be aggressive and he wasn't. Defensively, he wasn't always committed either.

I don't have the numbers handy, but doesn't Payton have pretty poor PnR numbers across his first two seasons?

Payton and AG both having a full pre-season and not being injured will be a big help. That and having a good coach :D

Be careful saying such things. You may not like the result in the end.

As for the OP itself, it was a great job. It has that poetic sense of flair and hope that we will finally turn the corner and will fight our way back into the playoffs. We are more equipped than in recent past with a mix of seasoned young veterans to go along with our homegrown players to make the journey back to the playoffs more interesting and challenging.

Can anyone imagine a scenario where Biyombo, Ibaka and Vooch are all in at the same time?

Length bothered Golden State in the playoffs right? Maybe versus a team like Milwaukee?

Imagine this lineup:

Hezonja - Gordon - Ibaka - Biyombo - Vucevic

Not those 3 on the court at the same time, but definitely Biyombo, Ibaka and Gordon.

We'll need Gordon, Ibaka and Biyombo all on the court when we play the Cavs and Warriors. Certain teams we won't need all 3 on the court because we will crush teams like the Kings, Hornets, Pelicans, Wizards, Heat.

Excellent review - first time responder, Magic fan since day one! So happy to hear a positive viewpoint on the summertime work of Zhenny and crew. I may be alone in my desire to keep Vich long term - now that we have players with the defensive acumen to cover up most deficiencies on that end, imo Vuch provides the offensive power necessary to make up for a lot of our offensive shortcomings! Together with Fornier and our 3 point shooters we should be looking like a well rounded team! At any rate - I'm looking forward with GREAT anticipation for our season to begin!!!!

The roster now has very good depth

Payton/Augustin/Watson
Fournier/meeks/wilcox
Gordon/hezonja/green
Ibaka/gordon/green/zimmerman
Vucevic/biyombo/onuaku

A lot of differents and good lineups are possible now.
Also i would like to see a Lineup of
Hezonja/fournier/gordon/biyombo/ibaka

I think Coach Vogel will bring a lot to this Team and that we will make the playoffs.

I look forward to this season.
