As long as he is healthy, Meeks is a good offensive contributor. I personally believe we have not seen yet the best of Meeks as injuries put him on a set back.
Meek's 42 points against OKC.

Re: Jodie Meeks Traded To Orlando
I think it's time to layout the options I suggested after the trade and before FA
A - Jodie Meeks (6.5m/1yr)
B - Austin Rivers (35m/3yr)
C - Jamal Crawford (42m/3yr)
D - Garrett Temple (24m/3yr)
etc etc
The only SG to get close to what Meeks is getting per year is Temple, who shot under 40% from the field last year and is older than Jodie, plus he has two extra years on his contract. We'd be scrambling to find affordable depth at SG if it wasn't for Meeks.

A - Jodie Meeks on a $6.5m expiring
B - Rely on Devy Marble
C - Austin Rivers on a multi-year deal starting at $8m to $9m
D - Jamal Crawford on a multi-year deal starting at $10m to $12m
etc. etc. etc.
In a market where Dion Waiters is likely going to be getting an eight-figure starting salary.. I'll take Meeks on a low-risk, contract year as a three point specialist off the bench.
Or did you guys want to spend $50m+ on Courtney Lee or $60m+ on Kent Bazemore and take away more minutes from Mario?

I think this guy in the comments said it best:
"Why tf Detroit Pistons don't start jodie meeks he hella raw like c'mon"
11/18/2017 - I have officially disowned Nikola Vucevic and branded him a loser.
- Skal Labissiere was my guy in 2016 pre-trade. Whoops, but I still believe.
- Malik Monk was my guy in 2017. Whoops(?)
- Mo Bamba was my guy in 2018. TBD.

With Meeks out "indefinitely," it is more clear why the Magic acquired C.J. Wilcox. I guess this surgery was foreseen by Magic brass.

If we knew it would imply we've always considered the guy a deep bench option. Hopefully he doesn't miss too much time.

I like the coaches comments on Meeks!
"One of the fastest guys end to end"
"one of my favorite players to coach... great guys that wants to do the small things" *in a nutshell* lol

This is pretty much how his entire tenure went in Detroit. He takes forever to get healthy sometimes twice as long as originally released. Then, he plays a few games or only a few practices then we hear about a Foot setback and he needs minor surgery then he is out another six months. Rewind a play again every four to six months for the last 2 plus years straight.

This is true but I think he's one of those guys that if he learns to stay healthy, could develop into a pretty good hustle guy off the bench, plus he's got a nice shot from the arc. Other than the cap hit, which is pretty reasonable at this point, he's a low-risk high-reward player.

I agree, except he is a high risk, high reward player.
