Exactly. Didn't we already make this hire (Skiles). How did that work out?

How about instead of finding someone who either has NO EXPERIENCE or a terrible track record we hire someone who is actually the best candidate for the job and has had success elsewhere rather than simply making a connection to Magic Ownership and history a key component.

This would be the ULTIMATE MAGIC MOVE.... on top of resigning Jeff Green for multi year deal.
A scoring guard.. never heard of one.

Bo, Nick, and 3D couldn't be any worse than Hennigan. Add to that the team sucks. The branding sucks. The arena sucks. The players suck.

But the next GM needs to be competent. Whether or not 3D is I don't know but I agree with his sentiment. The Magic brand needs to be fixed.

I'd bring 3D into the front office in some capacity if he wants to be here. Not as GM, but we need more NBA guys and less Bob Vander Weide types.

How could you possibly know that though? Hennigan was a breath of fresh air when he came in and Vogel is doing stuff that people would've been flamed for saying before the start of the season. I'm not about some novelty act, clown show. Although it wont matter of Martins is still calling the shots, If Hennigan is gone after this season, I think we need to get serious and go after an experienced GM. We have enough old Magic players representing us. I want someone that can come and get right to it. Bring him in on some other capacity.

Magic Johnson did it so now that's suddenly the model for success. Johnson had to sit down and learn the CBA...I want someone that knows the scouting, process, knows the CBA, and who has respect around the league as a GM. We don't need Dennis Scott coming in with pom poms trying to relive the 90's.

Thoughts?

Well, he needs a job.

Just being a good player doesn't qualify you to be a GM though. Not sure I see it, to be honest.

He never played here, therefore he isn't qualified.

I honestly see Joe Dumars getting a hard look after Hennigan's dismissed. The only former Magic alum qualified to be GM are Doc Rivers and Steve Kerr, and neither will be coming here.

I think it is pretty obvious that Henny is done.

I don't think the Magic would have been as bad as they had been this year if Skiles was still here.

I tend to agree. Changing the roster just made it worse. The youngens made progress under Skiles. Had we left the roster alone, including Tobias, we probably are a playoff team.
