This isn't surprising, I wonder how much our front office take into what we say. The biggest problem with the franchise is there seems to be 'too many chefs' so to speak. For me it's as simple as

GM: Explores trades and FA for pieces in priority order

POB/CEO: Ok's trades/signing on behalf of ownership


There shouldn't be much more too it than that other than delegation on scouting, targets, player development. We seem/ed to have Martins putting his ideas in, coaches getting involved. Whoever we hire for whatever role needs to be trusted to get on and do their job and work with the coach and POB/CEO, that's my opinion anyway

I have believed this to be true for quite some time, and I think it is a very wise thing to do. Not in a 'pandering to the fans' sense, but just to gain additional perspective from a fairly knowledgeable crowd-source that has the best interests of the team in mind.

We don't live it every day like they do, and that is actually where we can bring value. When we look at a trade, for example, there is no history or personal relationships muddying the water....it is just, 'we are getting x value, and we should be getting x+3, we are getting screwed'.

Online forums certainly have passionate fans, but we're a finicky bunch and we turn on bad trades/picks/FAs in a heart-beat.

Hahaha. Ben, that was great. I doubt owners & management spend a great deal of time on forums. They probably gauge rumors and trade ideas from forums on occasion. Just like when we read reviews on Netflix or IMDB. Do we really care about the extreme reviews of 1 star that are posted by trolls and haters? Most likely, they skip those posts and read the inciteful ones where the fans are versed in the teams deficiency and gameplay.
