It looks like Matt Lloyd is staying on.

This is a good move as he is a great scout.

I would not be surprised if he leaves after the draft.

There is always an impulsive decision to purge an old regime but I am glad Martins and the Devos family are identifying carefully who stays and goes. I think this is a good sign of our ownership despite a lot of flack the Devos family gets on messages boards and Twitter.

Magic need a Pro GM who can wheel and deal. I don't think Lloyd has that clout yet. He is a solid organization man and I am glad he stays.

we dont really know if he is staying or not. He is being given the opportunity to interview for the GM position, but he might leave if he doesnt get it

This prob means nothing for his future on the team. You wouldnt fire the guy who has been preparing for the draft a month left to the draft. I would'nt be surpised if he is let go after the draft.

Sources: The Orlando Magic have let go of several staff members today, including Harold Ellis, Michael Arcieri, and George Rodman.

Harold Ellis was the team’s head of pro scouting. Michael Arcieri was the team’s salary cap and collective bargaining agreement counselor. George Rodman was the general manager for the Erie BayHawks.

So the clear jobs for Lloyd are within these three.

Lloyd as lead scout makes a great deal of sense, as that is essentially what he has been doing these last months.
For "Salary cap and collective bargaining agreement counselor", sounds like an accounting position and not Lloyd's thing.
General manager for the Lakeland Magic is an interesting thought. It seems like a demotion but it allows Lloyd to work with the payers he is guiding the team to select.

In the end I see it as i) Lead scout or ii) move on to another team.
