Re: Tatum
Nice read on gordon+tatum combo
The Fit:
I love the idea of putting Tatum next to an elite athlete like Aaron Gordon in the frontcourt, and letting those do get to work. The team could switch everything defensively, and still maintain the kind of firepower that is necessary for the team to create offense — something they struggled with last year given that they finished second-to-last in offensive rating.
Sure, it’d add slightly to what is already a loaded frontcourt, but if you believe Tatum is going to be a high-level shooter — as I do — then you have to be excited as a Magic fan if he falls to No. 6

I don't think Tatum is slipping past 5. Celtics, Suns, and Kings can all use an SF.

1 Fultz
2 ball
3 I think Boston will trade #3 to Chicago
4
5 I really think they ll draft fox (really hope so)
So #6 we ll have one of those 3 guys
Jackson (i think he ll be gone by 4)
So to me, I see us picking whoever is left between tatum and Isaac

Re: Tatum
I think there will be surprises in this Draft and it is possible that Tatum slips.
The key is drafting the best available player at #6 and I truly believe the top-5 is not going to go as everyone says it will.

Re: Tatum
Am i the only one confused by the celtics right now?
They supposedly are trading down for Jackson right? Well didnt they just draft a freak athlete SF at #3 overall last year? Are they really trading down for another one? Are they trading down with the thought that the lakers are taking jackson and then they take ball? if so, doesnt that just add another G to a stacked G lineup? and if they were ok with taking a G, why wouldnt they stay at 1 and take fultz, is an extra 1 next year really worth losing out on the best player in the draft?
Im gonna say they are the wild card here and they shock everyone like they did last year and take Isaac and make him a stretch 4, while moving horford back to C

It's not impossible. Isaac makes more sense for them then Josh Jackson. They are still going all in on Hayward so drafting Jackson or Tatum makes no sense. They also already have Brown who looks good.
They are looking to trade the pick again I think. Jimmy Butker package seems likely at this point but it might be too much. Still if they draft Isaac and sign Hayward a lineup of
IT
Brown
Hayward
Isaac
Horford
That lineup might take Lebron 6 games to beat.

I don't think Tatum being available at 6 is going to qualify as a surprise though.
Him being taken in the Top 5 will be the surprise to me.

The consensus is Fultz, Ball, Jackson, Tatum and Fox will all go in the top-5 but I have always maintained that one of them will be available when The Magic pick.

Re: Tatum
My concerns with Tatum are about his general footwork and feel for the game. I see people rave about his footwork, but I believe that's simply because he looks graceful with his scripted moves, of which he has an abundance. I say scripted because if you watched him play, he tends to plow into defenders when his moves don't have the intended effect on the defender.
I think he has a bit of untapped athleticism, but I believe he is better suited to the four as he will usually be outgunned athletically at the three. A lot of players that struggle to impact the game while chasing threes around the perimeter come into their own when they have the freedom of the four.
He looks like a guy that spends a lot of time in the gym working at his game, and that's his reputation as I understand it. He surprised me a bit last year with some of his quick decision-making and passing at times. He also really improved as the season wore on, so he seems to learn and adapt rather quickly.
My general feel on him is that he will impress early on, but that opinions will sour as his limitations become more apparent, in the same ways that they did for players like Richard Jefferson or Juwan Howard. I think he is an incredibly safe selection though.

And I'm warming up to Issac. It's to the point where if we don't walk away with Issac AND Ntilikina from this draft I'm gonna be pissed

If the Celtics and Suns read that article, they might have an even tougher decision to pass on Tatum. Reading that article I don't think Tatum is available at 6.
