Funny you say Deng, I'd be interested in him as a vet, think he's a great fit, maybe we could take his contract and Jordan Clarkson now they have ball and send back Watson? or if they wanted Fournier

Orlando sends: Fournier + Vucevic + Watson + Augustine
Los Angles sends: Clarkson + Deng + Randle

Orlando

Payton/Clarkson
Ross/Hezonja
Isaac/Deng
Gordon/Randle
Biyombo/Zimmerman

LA

Ball/Augustine
Fournier/Young
Ingram/MWP
Nance Jr/Kuzma
Lopez/Vucevic

Both lineups improve, have more balance, and more depth on the benches

are you crazy? Deng? on a horrible contract and his play fell off a cliff. Clarkson is a neutral player, nothing you spend much of an asset on getting. Randle? thought we already stopped getting another PF to play in front of Gordon?

sorry, nothing about that trade makes sense

In your opinion,

Deng: Veteran and a good locker room presence and that's what he wants to do and be now. Sure he won't be as productive, but he will help the culture and team grow

Clarkson: 15/3/3 in the west are decent numbers, he'll challenge Payton and be a slightly different option, better than Augustine and window fits better. Worst case we get a good back up PG.

Randle: A draft pick with decent production but can still do more, remember he missed his first season. I'm a bi Gordon fan but we need talent. Even if Randle backs him up, AG could play some 3 or even 5, the same with Randle.

We aren't getting a Russell type player with our assets, we need to look to better long term fits and worst case we'll get 2 role players and add depth to the bench

After Noah, Deng is probably the worst contract in the NBA. We'd need a plethora of picks or something for them to dump him onto us. The best asset they give plays the same position as AG too, trade wouldn't make any sense and would just limit flexibility for three years.

He is a fine basketball player, and way better than Bizmack. But I think Vuc has outgrown the team. He would be great on a good team, and we won't be one for a while. It might be best to ship him out, and really go all in on the youth movement.

Just so we are clear, a player shooting 32 percent from three would equal Vucevic's two point shooting production on a per shot basis.

Anyone want to still argue that he's our best offensive player?

Do I want to give Vucevic's shots to Gordon and Payton? Considering they both had better effective field goal pcts last year, shot better from the line, and got to the line more often....

Yes, yes I do.

A lot of people still will. You can present people with insanely detailed reasons why Vuc was overrated last year on defense on and offense and they will ignore all of it and type "Why would we trade our best player!!!" when he finally is moved.

But more than anything, I want to trade him and give his shots to Isaac.

The plan next year should be to let Gordon, Payton, and Isaac run wild and carry the bulk of the offense. These three should let the shots fly.

One of two things will happen, they will learn to shoot and take the next step....or Gordon and Payton will flop, and we will lose enough games to pick top 3 and find another star to pair with Isaac.

Either way, it helps us.

Agree, that should be the plan moving forward. Also use the GLeague to try and unearth a Whiteside type. Lets find a young, hungry player who flew under the radar.

I think the biggest issue is that there is a surplus of centers at the moment and not many teams are looking for a C who lacks rim protection.

I'd prefer to see Vucevic moved so it can free up minutes for the rest of our bigs. But I fully expect 50 cents on the dollar when it comes to value. Thinking we at best would get an expiring and a heavily protected future first or second rounder.

Keep vuc and see if he can improve that 3 ball, if he can then deal him at the deadline

Try 10 cents on the dollar. I would literally trade him for a 2nd round pick. It's addition by subtraction. He no longer has a place in today's game.
