Magic are in absolutely no danger of relocation. Many arena's around the NBA are completely dead on game nights with 10k or less fans in attendance. Sometimes, it seems like there are only 5-7k fans in attendance because the tickets sales do not match the actual attendance. But, the Magic even on slow nights get plenty of fans into the seats compared to other teams. Orlando marketing does a good job.

Windhorst went on 96.9 this morning saying the Magic were 8 figures into the red last season, but that revenue sharing almost got us to the break even point. So that's pretty good.

Windhorst also said that overall, the Magic are a financially strong organization.

So again, nothing to worry about.

2016-2017 NBA Attendance Rankings

Even through we've been off the radar for half a decade, the Magic still ranked 15th in average home game attendance.

The Celtics, Spurs, and Thunder were right above us.

Man i have no relation with orlando. Not even been there once. But if the team is relocated i would quit watching the magic. To me is as important the city as the team.

I would be devastated if the team left Orlando, dont know if I would still follow them or NBA - and thats from an overseas fan who lives and breathes basketball.

Team not moving. Rich Devos is heavily invested in the area. Orlando as a city is booming. When the team does well (playoffs or star player on team), they make big money. They can lose a few mill here and there. Long term plan not worried about a few pennies here and there in losses.

The Magic aren’t a legit contender to relocate. No city aside from Seattle is strong enough to support an NBA team. Tampa is always brought up but is economically not as viable as Orlando. Orlando’s a growing city where tourism isn’t the only game in town anymore, it’s one of the better tv markets in the country and the team has a sparking new arena that’s one of the best in the league. The teams losing money reflect a league wide problem, so relocating really isn’t the answer. It’s adjusting the NBA’s business model. If anyone noticed the Spurs and Cavaliers, both champions the last decade both made the list. It’s a league problem not a city by city one. The Magics problems go away with some winning in my view.

This is even after revenue sharing. I'm not sure how we could say "the Magic do well financially."

Numbers don't reflect arena revenue. Beside that, annual revenue is kind of meaningless when franchise valuations are increasing so much.

I would personally stop following the NBA if the Orlando Magic stopped existing. The team is the reason I've been staying in touch with the league since the early 90s. No other team gives me the feels so yes, I would stop following the NBA.

I was born here. I just turned 39. Before the Magic were awarded a franchise, I was an Atlanta Hawks fan.

If the Magic were to relocate, whether or not I continue to root for them would depend on the circumstances I suppose, but mostly likely not. I’d likely be really bitter about this. I’m not even sure I would watch the league anymore, as I’m already of the opinion that the league is the worst it’s ever been.

I’m passionate about all of my teams, but this is the only pro sports team I root for that actually feels like it’s mine. It would be horrible.

The question now is, if the Magic left, would any of you stay on RealGM or would any of you leave?

This.

And the Amway Center.
And the OC Lions
And the Entertainment Complex going in adjacent to amway.
And businesses sometimes have years where they lose money.

Magic aren't going anywhere anytime soon.
