At least people would get their wish watching AG jacking up 20 shots a game...since people think that automatically makes players elite for some reason.

"He is so much better than Oladipo" yea, i remember it too. :banghead:
I remember that somebody said that he can be allstar as well

Not necceseraly. I remember them saying he was giving us similar production for a fraction of the price which was fair at the time as Ross came out guns blazing and not as passive as he has been this year, while Dipo had a bad year last year. However seems like this year he lost a ton of weight and is so much quicker than before, he has completely turned it around this year. Ross seems to have regressed or just been exposed for the coin toss he is.

I'm sure that even Lebron would have bad year next to black hole that Westbrook is.

I found game threads from his first games, people were saying crazy stuff

viewforum.php?f=25&start=325#start_here

pick whatever topic and some of people acted that he is some type of star

ofc in game thread vs Miami i found this epic "nugget"

"Vogel sure loves robbing Payton of triple doubles doesn't he? I swear if Elfrid was actually allowed to average real starter minutes, he'd put up better numbers and people would realise that he's actually a good player. Whatevs."

Exactly, people are hopping on this train now, but last year Oladipo was struggling to the point of the entire NBA laughing at Indiana for making that trade and taking on such a big contract. A lot of people liked Ross for the Magic because he was (keyword) a legit 3 point shooter and solid defender. That's what we needed. Additionally, he was showing some skill at initiating offense, and doing all of that for what - $11m a year? It's a nice contract.

Add to that, many Raptors fans were the ones coming over here and claiming he could be an all-star here. So I don't think it's that craxy for people to have liked the Ross trade. Of course, the key takeaway is that the Magic could not have paid Oladipo 20plus a year and resigned AG for the max. So no matter what, something had to be done. They bet on Fournier, who is a better shooter and finisher at the rim and is about a lock to give you 18-20 a game.

Ross has been a letdown this year. He has not blossomed as a starter and seems to have regressed on offense. He is however, one of our more active defenders. Additionally, he has a very tradable contract. Not the end of the world at all. Oladipo going back home to Indiana, not partying and shoving pizza down his face every night seems to have paid off. But that was not happening in Orlando and I am not sure it ever would have. Indiana seems like a perfect fit for him.

Welt/hammaond really need to sit down and start wheeling and dealing. This yeasr is a wrap. Smh see you soon guys

Alright, see you next game.

I cant speak for everyone but I always believed in Dipo. I thought he was gonna break out with the right coach ( woulda been Vogel). I dont get why everyone was so afraid to give him the money. Firstly we dont even know what we woulda paid him. OKC gave that extenstion after trading for him cause after losing KD they wanted to lock someone up. Maybe its not 20 mil+. But even if it is. Thats the going rate in the NBA now. I dont see why we wouldnt been able to lock up AG too. In this alternate reality there is no Biz signing. Dipo was a hard worker so I refuse to believe he couldnt do what hes doing here. There were plenty of signs of it while he was here.

Fournier needed to be paid and looked like a much more well rounded player, Dipo when he was here had issues pounding the air out of the ball and had issues finishing and shooting. We also had Payton who was still on his rookie deal and also couldn't shoot. It made sense not to pay Dipo a big contract when you look at those factors. If Payton and Dipo were both due new deals I'd have ditched Payton for Dipo, if we didn't have Evan needing a contract I'd have resigned Dipo too. But under those circumstances the move made sense. We'd also for a long time had people saying what the team needed was a legit shot blocker and shooting, on paper Ibaka looked like the perfect guy to fit that role even if he had declined a bit. Didn't work out but again it made sense. The issue i had with that deal was giving up the draft pick in it as well that made it unfair in my opinion.

Oladipo beat us up, but even with that game he's averaging 22 pts on 19 shots, 4.5 ft and 3 tov in November. That's bad efficiency. Will be interesting to see how he does the rest of the season.

Apparently Oladipos the coach and the GM in Indiana. That dude never came out of the game. He even said no to a substitution.

Looks like the same Dipo to me. Reckless and aggressive. It’s not like Dipo beat us we continue to beat ourselves.

It was made public that oladipos team told
rob they wanted a max deal to stay here. That is one of the reasons he was traded.
