Uh... ok, but the choices are turnover or bad shot VS open shot from a guy shooting 36%.

That was 36% from behind the arc, which is at or above the league average for the last decade and a "Good Shot".
Can we please concentrate our criticism on his hair? I mean that mop clearly means he has to go!

at this point you simply have to figure out that some Payton defenders here are flat out delusional. Now they focus on 14 made threes and 36% in 20 games. Freaking Hezonja didn't play half of a season and already made 11

You are the worst person here at trying to put words in peoples mouth. All you see is "Payton defender... attack attack attack". Where did I say he's a good shooter bro? Attack the point not the poster.

Freaking Hezonja was always known as good shooter, a good 3 pt threat. Can't say the same about Payton. So what point are you trying to make? This attempt here is flat out delusional.

Elfrid is shooting 36% from 3. Better off taking your chances seeing if he can knock it down or make another play rather than turn it over or take a worse shot. That's on Simmons, not Payton.
He barely shoots though, he passes up wide open 3s and just dribbles or just passes it off to someone else. If he was a genuine 36% three point shooter being defended the way he is this year he'd be scoring 30+ pts per game.
I'd say he probably overthinks it when he's left that wide open due pressure to make an easy three, his struggles to shoot, and the defense completely disrespecting him. It's the shot he's given the most and he's forced to take it to try and keep the defense honest. Unfortunately, he's shooting 27% on those "wide open" threes, so it's actually a bad shot for him and the team at this point. I don't think shooting more of them will help... his form does not look good and shot is completely flat. Needs to cut his hair and work more with a shooting coach over the summer.

Hez played 1/3 of Payton's min. I'm just pointing out how little Payton threes he made. 14 in almost 600 min.
