If you expect him to say something politically incorrect, like saying we have bad players or whatever to bash the previous management, that would be bad PR. Its recorded interviews like this that you take with a grain of salt.

You’re not supposed to say anything negative about the team because it lessens the value of our players.

He can be politically correct without making weak excuses though. Just say we have been bad and it doesnt sit well with anyone. Id be happy with that.

Saying weve been bad affects the value of our players negatively. When you’re trying to sell a product, you dont say negative about it. Instead, you find an excuse so as to negatively affect the value of the product. No matter how bull it is.

Well: the first decision was made.

Khem Birch will be a Magician until season's end. This effectively doubles his rookie salary for the year, by adding US$400K to his bank to the guaranteed level of 800K.

Nice work Birch !

Which IMO was step 1 into a possible Vuc trade.

Possible depth at C now and Birch could/should see Speights minutes post ASB. See what the man has and if he can be a solid backup. Would also help us look elsewhere come draft time (bagley, doncic, young, sexton)
A scoring guard.. never heard of one.

Well, tbh, I'd rather see Weltman move Speights than Vuc. :D

Or move Vuc and tell RFA Speights get a deal elsewhere because we’re not resigning you.

Interesting to almost being its own thread, "What Magicians do you want gone."

I think keeping assets is key in this injury plagued season, and thus think these players should be retained: Vučević, Payton, Gordon, Fournier, Isaac, and Simmons. These are players I think need to be moved: Hezonja, Ross, and Biyombo. I am indifferent to the rest of the roster, all of whom are fillers.

Aside from AG, Isaac and maybe Simms, everybody else in this team has an equal chance to get moved. We need to move the big contracts first. Fournier and Vuc have trade value so I think finding a partner for them is doable. Biz is untradeable so we are stuck with him. Fournier can help a PO team this year. Id look to move him and/or Vuc for the best highest offer.

I for one am interested to see how Orlando resolves the overspending on Augustin and Mack. One of these two is dead weight to the cap, but moving either is a financial challenge.

Mack is essentially an expiring, team option.
