I think Cleveland is our best potential trade partner. They can really use a wing like Fournier and Payton would fit in nicely in that backup PG spot. Their two biggest problems could be solved in one move. JR and Shump can be our new tank commanders :D

Swap Vucevic with Payton, give us Zizic and the Brooklyn pick and that’s a deal

I don't think we're getting the Brooklyn pick from CLE, but if we are sending both Vuc & Fournier and taking back bad salary maybeee it's possible.

I proposed this trade involving Vuc to CLE a few days ago

http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=y78twx7k

I put this up on the trade board and heard only no's from magic fans. Basically Vuc for Cedi, Zizic, and a future 2nd from CLE - I think they both have potential to be decent starters/good backups and I also think it's time the Magic move on from Vuc. Seemed like a fair trade to me from both sides.

I like that for us, but why does cleveland want Vucevic. I guess they could go back to the love, TT, Lebron frontcourt, with Crowder and IT in the backcourt. Then they have wade, korver, vucevic, and JR.

Cleveland does it because it's low risk for them. They take on no additional long term contracts - Vuc expires in 2 years, Hezonja this year. They barely play Zizic, Osman, and Shumpert this year, it's just more ammunition for them in player quality. Any minutes Osman/Shump were getting Hezonja can easily fill (plus more probably).

They prefer a stretch 5 - something that TT can't provide them. Vuc can hit the longball and frees up the driving lane for slashers (IT/LeBron).

Didn't see this posted, but Elfrid commented on the rumors.

“I don’t get caught up in the things like that,” Payton said. “Today I’m an Orlando Magic. I play for the Orlando Magic and I’m gonna give them 100 percent of me. I’m somebody that likes to finish what I started, so I definitely would like to see this through and try to turn this organization around.”

On who needs to step up: “Everybody,” Payton said. “I like Vuc [Nikola Vucevic]. I like AG [Aaron Gordon]. Evan [Fournier] is somebody who can fill it up. T Ross [Terrence Ross] is somebody who can fill it up when healthy. I think we have a lot of talent on this team. Even the rookies—Wes [Iwundu] plays well for us in stretches. Jon [Isaac] when he was playing he’d do well.

We are a starting point guard away from winning consistently in my view. A pg who can play consistently at a high level, for a full season, hit the 3 and lead this team.

If I can somehow get Kemba without decimating our roster or salary saddling this team I have to try. Our pick plus?

I like Kemba a lot, but he's is not worth our pick.

And I'm not sure why you believe we are a starting PG away...ANY player, regardless of position, playing at a consistently high level for a full season who can hit 3's and lead this team would be great. I disagree with the notion that it must be a PG.

Why give up any assets for kemba when Trae Young is within our reach? A core of Young, AG, and Isaac is something to get me excited again for the future.

If we gave up our first round draft pick for Kemba, I would question my devotion to this team.

You might be correct that Orlando needs a PG upgrade, but this team will continue to be awful until the fiasco of the SG slot is improved substantially.
